Default Windows 10, Version 1709 feature update

So I have installed this update for a second time, with about 2 months between each attempt. As a result DDO will no longer properly launch within Steam a few hours after the update goes in. Last time I had to roll back out of the update and reinstall DDO within Steam. I am downloading this update again for the third time and once the update installs fully after the reboot, I am gonna do a full shut down, then power back up and reinstall DDO into Steam once more and hope that works with the 1709 Creator's update for Windows 10. If it does not, is there something that can be done to correct the issue. There is no error messages, the game shows that it is running within Steam and 1-2 seconds after the launch the game shuts down without an error or discernible reason. LoTRO still launches as does all other game I have within Steam, just DDO is the issue.

Will see what happens within the next 2-3 hours after update and DDO reinstall.

So after I completed the update and went through all the processes and was able to play again. Then there were two updates to flash within Internet Edge and a third update that installed overnight when the system automatically rebooted itself after it triggered on the default 3AM setting. This morning I tried to launch the game and the exact same issue, shows it is running in steam and then before the UI window launches it stops. As such I am reinstalling once again and hopefully that will be the end of it until the second Tuesday of this month when new windows updates are pushed.

It appears to be a similar problem that I ran into with windows doing a reboot over night and then the game stopped working. I believe it was an issue with the .net framework of windows and had to do some kind of update to the .net framework updates to correct it, but am not recalling it correctly I think. I am curious why this only happens to DDO and if anyone at SSG has any insight into this?

    Cheers

So after reinstalling again and playing this morning, I log off and come back just over 4 hours later and same issue again. Tried to apply the .net 4.0 patch fix, but says that is already integrated into windows 10 and I have the latest version. Roll back the OS to previous version launch the game, begins the .net patch, and once again issue persists resulting in reinstall number 4 of the game in 2 days.

Recommend that no one get the version 1709 feature update since it seems that DDO cannot function with this update.

    Default DDO reinstall works ?

Wish i saw this post just around 11.12.17 when my PC asked to apply the 1709 update, and i deleted the recovry before trying to launch DDO :/ now im stuck with it so, just to be sure, it works properly after a full DDO reinstallation ? from the web page ? i tried installing the game through the old ddo downloaded files i used to install the game when i first started playing, but the issue remained unchanged.

or maybe do you know anyways i can rewind my PC to its full glory ? A full format maybe ?

I have that update, and DDO still runs fine for me. I run it without Steam, though. I did have a problem with it some time ago, but there is a user who has a set of DDO install files on a link.

    Stoner81 may have an alternative.

Note: A couple of months afterward, I checked the normal DDO launcher, and it was working fine. I went back to that to free up disk space.

I too am on the 1709 build and have zero issues but I also don't run it through Steam.
