I have what's likely to end up 17/3 clonk melted/healer/caster. Max wis, with high con, dex based for melee. T5RS.
I have not done any epic leveling to speak of in this game. Which destinies hold any type of synergy with this set up?

Many people approach EDs from what is best to worse for their builds.
I personally look at which is best for different aspects. Such as Enhancing current abilities or Plugging up weaknesses.
Think also about it a different way - What Twists are more advantageous to you. I say this because the twists themselves are very powerful.
Now as a DC Caster
Exalted Angel
Draconic
Magister
Primal Avitar
As A Nuke Caster
Draconic
Shiradi Champion
Divine Crusader
To Boost Defense
Unyielding Sentinel
To Boost the Monk in your Build
Grand Master of Flowers
To Boost Melee/Tactical
Legendary Dreadnaught
Fury of the Wild
Shadowdancer and Fatesinger may have some twists for you, but to the most part these are more "flavor". However, Shadowdancer can work well with an assassin type playstyle and Fatesinger if you enjoy having some "bardic" skills
From a wholly practical standpoint, you might want to pick a "bridge" destiny as your starting point.
In this case, that would be "Unyielding Sentinel". This will unlock the other two Divine destinies when
it hits level 3 and Grandmaster of Flowers when it hits level 4. Maximizes your options.
Ok good advice here. As I look at twists, what exactly am I looking at? One ability?a tree?

Twists allow you pull in a select few abilities that you have unlocked from other destinies other than the one you're currently using.
Unlocking twists and what tier of ability you can put in them is unnecessarily complicated, but if you have a look at the wiki page:
http://ddowiki.com/page/Epic_Destinies#Number_of_slots
it will give you the scoop.
Executive summary: Every time you earn 3 epic destiny levels (across all destinies), you gain a point toward unlocking a twist
slot. The very first one costs one point, so when you hit Unyielding Sentinel level 3, you can get your first twist slot unlocked.
Then, if you decide to run in Divine Crusader, you could drag the Divine Energy Resistance ability from Sentinel into your twist
slot (which I recommend, by the way) and continue to use it while you're in Crusader (or Angel, or anything else!)
