Sorry I missed you guys this past week, got caught up with home stuff. My job as handyman is never done.
I would like to try to catch you all this coming Tuesday. If I start a new toon, is it ok to use Vet1 and make a lvl 4 toon with the basic starter gear: http://ddowiki.com/page/Veteran_Status_I_starter_item
Would this be in-line with the groups power levels or too much?

1) Dragonborn Air Savant Sorcerer
2) Assimar Divine Disciple Cleric (Fire Domain)
3) Drow Harper Archer (AA + DS mix)

By all meens start at Vet character at L-4. I would also, do all the Harbor Solo quests and also run any other Korthos or Harbor quests you think you can handle to get some better equipment. I know I’ve gotten some good drops and party has shared good items that they have received and can’t use as well.

Sorry, I am late replying. I deleted a few PM's to make room but better to have the discussion here with everyone anyway.

So yes Vet 4 works fine and please hold off on 5 until we all do it.
The only problem you will have is you are always going to be ready to level up before us since your character will be a first life and ours are all third.

But it is hard for all of us to stay the exact same XP level anyway, some of us have tomes of learning going, which can't be undone, people will eventually miss play session etc. So sometimes xp is "wasted" and we just hold off on leveling. But we have fun which is the #1 goal.

Play whatever Character you will enjoy. We have the basics covered (well Rogue is barely covered by me anyway, hopefully better this week) so feel free to try anything, we aren't worried about being optimal.

I have the Beamdog enhanced edition of BG 1 and 2.
They did a good job.

I played some NWN and NWN2 although I never did finish the main story/campaign on either. I was too into DDO then.
Almost done with Pillars of Eternity now and waiting for POE II !

You almost, but never quite, finished the tutorial then. Seriously, NWN1, had a thriving online roleplaying community from 2002 until sometime after I got into DDO in late 2010. Hell, it might still be there, but since I'm not, I cannot say one way or another.

The campaign game that was slapped onto NWN just before release was a joke. The campaign game with NWN2 was much better. However, the real joy in NWN was in the user made content and with guilds that made their own persistent worlds to Role Play and quest in with guide members!
