Default Evocation vs enchant vs necro focus feats for heroics

It's about time for me to start taking spell focus feats and I'm wondering what the merits are of enchant vs evocation vs necro.

Heroic reincarnation train is the name of the game, doing wizard lives at the moment. Clvl 6, pure wizard. Two sorcerer, three favored soul and 1 wizard HPL under my belt so far. All the divine epics x3, color x3 and x2 arcane crit for EPL. This life I've taken quicken, empower, maximize, wizard past life, spell pen and greater spell pen.

I'm doing direct damage at the moment with not much cc and heavy reliance on evo slas. It seems to be working well for soloing Elite and R1-2. Will this pattern hold, or should I plan to switch to insta kill & cc, and take appropriate feats?
FYI, when I summon an earth elemental, it's not a "he," it's a "she." And her name is Pebbles.

You have spell pen covered with past lives and feats. I would gran Necro and as a secondary enchant. Insta killing is just downright absurd. Point and kill while never stop running. Whatever you cannot Insta you can hold, charm or web.

If you are primarily solo in R1 or R2, I'd vote necro as well.

On the other hand, if you ran consistently with a group that included melees, I'd lean more towards enchant for the mass hold.

I would not think you need necro it at lvl 6, tho. If you are willing to pay the swap costs, you might consider taking evo early and swapping to necro when you have a better arsenal of necro spells at your disposal.

If you are heroic completionist and getting RTRs, then I'd choose completionist feat. It's basically like Wiz past life ... +1 to all DCs.

As a DC caster and speaking only from that experience I want to make an important point.

There are many ways to go.

    The advantage of Necromancy -
Instant Kill Spells - Which require Spell Penetration
Negative Energy Spells - Some of which require Spell Penetration
Spells Like Contagion - Which don't have Spell Penetration but are better used in Reaper Mode due to kill speeds
Spells Like Fear/Ghoul Touch - Forms of CC

The advantage of Enchantment (Spell Pen needed)
    Holds
    Charms
This focuses on controlling the pace of the combat. Keep in mind holds still needs a source of DPS.

Evocation (Spell Pen not needed, however can become costly if meta's not managed)
With wizard Spell Points are the weak point. There are several Evocation Spells that don't have saves so any use of these spells would not require spell focus.

One you have not mentioned Illusion - This has access to an instant kill spell sooner then Necromancy. However, this works best when you can have multiple castings of Phantasmal Killer such as a SLA from Deep Gnome and the Spell.

Another is Conjuration (Mix of Spell Pen and no Spell Pen)
Damage Spells - Acid Rain, clouds
Web - very versatile Crowd Control

What I would recommend though is look at the spells you commonly like to use that have DC requirements and focus there. Also, consider gear especially swappable slots where you can maximize your DC for the spells you are using.

id say if you want evo, then go enchantment. If you can mass hold you can blast those suckers to hell and back. Was nice on a sorc but a lil tight feat wise.
