Allowing a little variance for server differences, 500 per is more like it. (Per my expedience on Thelanis & Orien.)

The best best option for essences, other than going out and gathering items yourself, is to hit the AH and search for level 26+ items with buyouts of 10K or less. At that level, you get ~30+ on a decon, which drops the price paid per essence to about 300ish.

You may find folks who just really don't care about CC crafting willing to dump their essences for 200, but that would be an exceptional find or an inexperienced newbie.

On Thelanis (which is not Orien, admittedly), Essences are typically offered on the AH for 1000/ for buyout, and anywhere from ~700-850 for starting bid. Less if in large quantities, more if it's a Bonus Crafting weekend, but 75,0000/95,000 is not untypical for lots of 100.

Now, on one hand, some(!) buyers are willing to pay that much, but on the other hand sellers (who lose 30% of that to the AH) are only making 500-700 each, and seem happy with that. BUT they have to post, and then wait, and etc etc. So considering the convenience of cash in hand, yeah, 400 might be low, but not unreasonable.

But whatever the market will bear, baby - GL!

Typical prices from the Orien AH

Really? "Typical"???...

Well, first, that's always tricky, b/c those are items that have NOT sold (or not yet...). But more, some of your 5 "typical" prices selections are all over the map.

From the 2 that are close to closing out, for bid/buyout I see...

o 361 @ 48/1000 per (the bid price almost certainly started at/around 15,000 (and has been bid on 3x), showing a cavalier attitude (or an inability to do math in your head) for bid price - both happen, but I would think/hope are not "typical".)

o 100 @ 500/7,150 per (the "500" has been bid on once, and the 7,150 almost certainly is a mental mistake in decimal point (vs. 715/?) for buyout price)

From the 3 that are more recently posted, I see...

o 642/714 per
o ---/559 per (only buyout is valid price)
o 495/500 per

So, from the above (limited as it is), it seems that Orien prices are, apparently, a bit lower than typical Thelanis prices, seeming(?) to be around 500-600 bid/500-700 buyout. Use that as your grain of salt.
