Completionist
Well, I made heroic and epic completionist
Took two years
And for the most part, I enjoyed the journey
I originally had a plan
Because Kil started as a red headed stepchild
A twf barbarian
I remember that first life
New to the game,
I had rerolled my cleric, vish
And had seen epics once
So I thought a twf barb would be good,
But it was terrible
Had to level eds,
Didn't have gear,
And it was a slog
But I prevailed
Ya, so had a plan
To play into the eds as I leveled a build
Did a twf bastard sword cleric
And an arcane warrior warlock
And a failed tree build
Then I went into ranger to test ranged combat
Did another warlock that was supposed to be dc
Rerolled that one at 20
Then monk came out
And I spent 6 months playing various builds
Mostly settling on henshin
That's when I took a surname
So I hadn't really done very many lives at the year mark
Moreso epic past lives
But then reaper came out,
And everybody dropped down to heroics
And so I started my journey to finish completionist
I had like 8 classes to do
So I built them up
I did a dragon series
A blue dragon sorcerer
A white dragon bard
A black dragon paladin
A red dragon warlock
This last for my epic completionist
And a dragonborn racial, my first
I also did a wizard trapper,
And a Harper rogue mechanic
Really liked that build
And then I finished it out with a Druid archer
And a unlucky friar fvs
The latter half all got published
I find the forums a good place to keep my notes
So I average about a heroic every two weeks
The same for an epic
So 2 heroics a month,
Or one 1-30 trip
It's worked out pretty good
I still had to level my cleric a few times in all that
But vish is banked at 30
My reaper cleric
A set of slavers and best gear
He is my end gamer
Kil is my test build platform
So, what have I learned?
How to build toons
The first year was exploration
Just keep moving forward
I remember my first 2000 hp warlock
I thought that was an achievement
But I kept reading the forums
And reading ddo wiki
Putting the pieces together
Now I can build anything from scratch
And come up with my own original builds
The one I like the best,
Is the priest of the silver flame
A max wisdom paralyzer archer
I was looking for a better build than axels
I couldn't believe dump starting
And I was working with a ranged meta
So I came up with it one day
A simple 13/4/3 split
Tanky, with lots of sp
Not a caster, a crowd controller
And I test built it on Kil
And he's overpowered,
What with +6's
So he always performs near tops
And the build worked great
So I rerolled vish into it
And he's my champion cleric
It's a really sweet reaper build
For a support toon
But Kil gets the dps department
Probably the best I ran on him was
The red dragon
A necro warlock with cone blasts
But I didn't have the DCs
Need more wizard lives
What will my end game build be?
Henshin
I got a mean monk streak in me,
And I took my name when I was a monk
So it's only befitting
A second would be a necro warlock
But I'm going with monks and clerics
Not locks and anti paladins
But I've got some more past lives to do
Still haven't really jumped on the racial wagon
I've got a build for it
But I'll likely customize each life
That's how I keep it fresh
Always something new to figure out
So I've got a trapper monk
A cleric monk
And a khopesh monk
Planned. Those will be for my human lives
and by then, ravenloft will be out
And I'll make the journey to 30
As a henshin

Grats, I am only like 1/10 of the journey done lol
I find that if I just solo it on a decent build that can elite (I haven't quite figured out Reaper yet), it takes me about 15-17 hours to 1-20 on my tring toon, but if you get really good groups it can get better. I no longer do optionals unless they are on the way anyway, like in Wiz King, or unavoidable like Devil Assault lol
I do tend to solo a lot, I am doing my racial trs now, finishing my second half elf life, tonight after farming devil assault on my alt for tokens. That's my biggest hold up actually, I often sit at 20 with a 30 or even 50% pot running and wait for the tokens to buy a heart.
