Sometimes anecdotal things are just that, like when someone concludes on a small sample size that stepping into the shower left foot first instead of right foot first means you won't slip and fall. Other times a small sample size is all that's needed, like hitting ones self in the head with a hammer hurts and not hitting ones self doesn't hurt

The phenomena of logging off and waiting is not corellated with avoiding this bug.
This bug is rare but I asure you that when it happens to you it would be like stubbing your big toe----you'll remember what you did and didn't do.

In my case I had the problem of losing ED and tome 3 times out of 4 ETR over 2 weeks. Someone asked me if I logged out immediately when I got the message I was ready to TR and that was the case. They suggested after getting the message to stay logged in take a short break then come back and log out to make sure everything happening in the background completed properly. Since I've been doing this I stopped having the issue.

Say what you wish, at least I am trying to share a positive thing that worked for me in hopes the devs look at fast logouts after getting the ready to TR message when trying to determine what the issue is.

I hope your guidly gets his items back and your guildies in general stop having such bad luck.

I don't agree. No one is blaming the victim. Until SSG gets this worked out I am willing to listen to any and all ideas that might reduce the chance of this happening to me.

In the IT Security world, if it is discovered that a piece of software has a known exploit, we make work-arounds (aka POAM - Plan Of Action and Milestones) until the vendor comes up with a patch. I might have to make a new firewall rule or ACL on a router, maybe disable a certain service, or make some configuration modifications to the software. We don't just sit around using the software exactly the same way until the vendor releases a patch.

The ultimate solution is either it gets fixed or we stop using it and find something else, but until one of those two decisions are made we do the best we can to mitigate.

Oh I assure you that when it did happen, it was much more bothersome than a stubbed toe Lost Tome bonuses, all ED XP & Karma; I was fortunate in that I didn't lose items too (that wasn't so much happening at the time). In game ticket submission was broken at the time, phone support existed but was useless, and web support closed my ticket and referred me to in game support even though my ticket included the fact that I couldn't contact in game support.

That was my last ER-immediate-TR, and countless E/T/I & now R Reincarnations ago.

Call it superstitious hocus-pocus or whatever you like. I'll rely happily on my years of experience with issueless Reincarnations practicing the same Voodoo as Slarden there after having learned my lesson. It sucks your pal lost there stuff - I don't mean to pretend otherwise - and it sucks he quit the client & restarted before Reincarnating and still got jacked. But I wasn't there when they did their thing, I don't know how closely or loosely their steps resembled mine to get different & unfortunate results.. Like Slarden on the matter, I just want to help others avoid the same misfortune I had.

Is my Voodoo a 100% guaranteed fool-proof no-fail Reincarnation bork-proofing? Maybe not, but it hasn't failed me yet either, so I'll continue to dispense it as advice.

I put ticket asking for an update, and in game support closed the ticket. They didn't even give an automated response

Also, that ticket was put in on the 12th, so it took them 5 days to just close my ticket, and not even reply with any kind of information.

I am hardly the only one that had this experience. And you think your dismissal of the possibility is not witchcraft but me sharing my experience is? That is funny. What I said is based on my experience and my only intent is to offer a possible clue to SSG about one way this problem occurs. Ok listen up ladies and gents (except the ugly chicks, nobody cares what you think). This is obviously a plot by North Korea to destabilize the american video game industry. Think about it, the western world spends a lot of time playing MMOs and it is a big time sink. What would we otherwise be doing? Yeah I have a basis for suggesting SSG look at fast logouts after getting the ready to TR message. It happened to me multiple times and after it was suggested I don't log out so fast and I followed that advice I stopped having the issue entirely.

You have 0 basis for your comments. Go ahead and use your witchcraft to make your decisions if you wish. Of the 2 of us in the discussion I am the only one that has any basis for my suggestion to SSG. You are simply booing without any basis.

You can keep your rock it seems to fit in with your approach for making decisions and evaluating things.
