Spell resistance. Yay or nay?

Years ago spell resistance was only recommended up until level 12 or so. After that even a 20 SR was fairly useless. With the new crafting system, you can't even craft SR that high (I think 17 at level 15 is the best you can get with crafting). Is it even worth wasting the slot at that level?

Sadly, much like with fortification, when the added the insightful spell resistance and insightful fortification they lowered the amount you can get at each level. I still have my 75% fortification level 5 items and 100% fortification level 7 items luckily, but did not bother hoarding spell resistance items (they used to start at a minimum of 13 and now they start as low as 1 point which is completely useless). If you want spell resistance you have to use two slots, one for spell resistance and one for insightful spell resistance.
