wont launch after Windows 10 update

Been playing for months on Windows 10. I launch directly (not through steam). I know windows pushed an update on me last night, maybe it was the 'creators update', but not sure. Now, can't launch, either directly or through steam. I get to login screen, enter password etc, and it just goes away. checking task manager and I don't see a ddo or turbine task running. any ideas?

The update before the Creators Update is a privacy update patch they rolled out. Windows 10 is very twitchy about anything that is in the Program Files folders so I recommend having the game installed elsewhere such as:

C:\Games\<name of game here>

Add to this it could be a permissions issue too so try running the launcher as administrator and see if that helps.
