Default Downloading "XX Loading Screen X" takes too long

Since U36 the launcher takes very long in the part Downloading "XX Loading Screen X" (ten screens per language). Any idea about how to minimize that? For instance, only downloading the screens of one language. The only advice that I have found is quite old and implies changing the file DownloadFileList.xml which apparently no longer exists.

I second that. Having the same issue here, really annoying.
Tried reinstalling the game, the problem persists.

    Yes, have same problem here.

Since U36 startup takes like three times longer.

try adding this to your short-cut's target field.
    "-skiprawdownload"

    as in:

    E:\DDO\TurbineLauncher.exe -skiprawdownload

it will skip the constant re-downloading of the splash screens.
Found this in another thread, it doesn't fix the problem but it's a nice workaround.

Not trying to be "that guy" but I am not on an SSD and the loading screens part takes only a few seconds on either my iMac or a Windows 7 desktop. Is everyone experiencing delays on a laptop? With my daughter's laptop both starting the game and zoning into areas takes forever. It's perplexing that people have such a wide range of issues with the same software and (what should be) similar hardware.

Thanks for that, worked perfectly, no more 20 minutes wait every time I opened the client, get disconnected, changed characters, etc.

I found this thread, which talks about yet another thread, which mentions such launch options as -nosplash, -username, -password

Thanx. This fixed the issue for now, but still this must be some network related problem (i have SSD, new computer and windows 10 and fast network).
Could be that it has to do with location (Europe)

    Same here, EU player.
I have 2 x SSD in RAID 0, so i guess writing / reading speed is not an issue.
Interestingly enough, the whole game downloaded in about 30 minutes for me via launcher, so it's not a bandwith issue either.

How do you do that? I am a computer noob, I have no idea of what are you talking about... do you have a link or something that explains a step-by-step on how to do that?

    Thanks

On desktop create new txt file and write in:

    cd /
    cd "C:\ProgramData\Turbine\DDO Unlimited"
    start TurbineLauncher.exe -skiprawdownload -nosplash

adjust path (2nd row) if needed

    save and rename as DDO.bat

    doubleclick on DDO.bat file

This works for me, but still dunno how to run it with preloader (yes i got slow PC and slow connection too), someone got a solution?
Leamos --> Completionist + Epic Completionist

Arena PVP matchs are the only real end-game... still waiting that community will understand and let turbine to implement it.

Yeah, replace TurbineLauncher with DNDLauncher. The other exe is now used.
