    Default Dungeon instance reset early?

I was doing The Archon's Trial which was involving a lot of back and forth to resurrect my hire as everytime a wave spawns they aggro on him as he's further away, he dies and I kill the wave whilst they're beating his dead body. Then I run back to the shrine to res him, repeat. Got to the last wave in front of the gate and they agro me as Lorben was lagging too far behind, I die and Lorben does his typical thing of standing around until he dies too.
So I release, grab buffs from ship and I'm back at the quest giver. I open the panel and the dungeon has been closed.
I took less than 10s and it reset. The strange thing is that it didn't do that earlier when I released to restart the quest when I wiped on the first portal of the quest.
I don't know why and I'm sure it's not the first time it's done it to me. After spending a depressing amount of time trying to do that quest it whisks away any chance of completing it. The archon quests are rough.

Sometimes the dungeon assumes your party has split up if you release out with a hireling because the hireling vanishes and now you're no longer in a party.

It would be nice if the Devs fixed things for this not to happen.

I find that rarely happens but you might be right.

For contrast I decided to do LoD at level 15 just for fun. I completed with no deaths. Much easier than the archon quest I was trying. Only problems was the soul of cruelty Marideth and a stone guard Jarilith.

The Archons series is the first set of instances that I see as "Modern DDO". Waves of mobs, hp bloat mobs on Elite, mindless fights that emphasize AE DPS in the best defense is a good offense framework, etc.

I play them on Elite at level with a Warlock and on Hard at a level above on a Cleric. The blue bar is what separates the two classes, not the DPS as much. As long as Blade Barrier is available I am fine on the Cleric and once it is not I am done.

100% agree. Next life is arti so as long as I have enough room to run backwards it should be ok. Especially as Improved precise shot is at about that level which decimates big groups.

If the 5 U36 quests continue to follow this bad formula I'll be very worried about Ravenloft.

Sometimes exiting a quest with a hireling in the party will make it reset when the hireling leaves your group. You could try dismissing the hireling first then exiting the quest to minimize the chance of it resetting.

This works but you do then have to wait 5 mins to recall the hireling which can also be annoying.
