Default Need a solo Rogue build

I'd like to do two heroic levels of a rogue, preferably something that can handle a hard zerg. I'm open to just about any mix, but there are some limitations.

I need mostly free classes/races. I have half-orc, drow, druid and FvS to work with outside of the free classes.
Will be 3rd and 4th life - 34 then 36 pt build plus +2 tomes for all stats.
Will run with a hire, so healing isn't too much of an issue.
Not worried about reaper. Would like to be able to solo elite, but if the limitations (not being able to splash monk) prevents it, can probably drop down to a hard BB.

Thanks in advance for your input!

This is what I have used for 7 racial past lives so far. The 2 arti gives me rune arms and conjure bolts. The 1 barbarian gives me extra run speed and BAB so that I can get Improved precise shot at 15.

If you do not have arti, then just go 19 rogue and 1 barbarian. Knowing you have have to buy bolts, lots of bolts, or scrolls or wands. :-) Yes I often forget to buy the scrolls from House c. The combo of House C fire bolts and a Run arm damage are a nice bit of extra dps

Actually you can craft bolts and it's like 5 essences and 144 siberys dragonshards for +1 of various bolts and you really hardly need any crafting levels.

Or better still go to the House C arti scroll vendor and pick up a 100 stack of Flame Arrows which will also do bolts in stacks of 500, couple this with Fletching from the Mechanic and you are good plus they do 1D6 fire damage on hit too!

    Better get a crossbow, son.
Better get a real big one.

Jokes/mangled songs lyrics aside, it's still possible to run an effective melee rogue even taking into account the current problems with stealth and aggro. Assassin works best pure, but if you want to do a staff build not having monk to splash may hold you back.

If you do decide to try an assassin, two things that help immensely are using acrobat enhancements and quarterstaves for the early levels before you get (most of) your TWF feats, and taking the improved traps enhancement from the mechanic tree. The cc and blindness from web and glitterdust traps is amazingly useful when playing solo.

    Good luck with it.

Even better (IMHO) Wand of flame arrow, House P.

A repeater build can use 1000's of bolts in a quest, but non-repeating rarely uses 1000 in one pass (tho' there are exceptions...) Tho' even this can be a dealbreaker if you are running with a group that isn't stopping to refuel between quests.

My GXB builds carry several deep quivers, and make sure to keep the one slotted as full as possible at every pause, often with some loose stacks of bolts in a conspicuous location in my Inventory to signal if that has run out.

Another help is House D returning bolts, but 150 House D favor requires the Sorrowdusk pack, and the OP sounds F2P/Premium. They have nice (deep) quivers, too! (Tho' even with that, you don't tend to earn that until Level 8 or so?)

@ OP - also, if(?) this is for Heroic TR only, and no/minimal Epic, remember that you rarely will be running at Level 20, so you're looking for an 18-level end-build. Pure Rogue is pro'ly best DPS for that, with that Core 18 +2 Crit multiplier for GXB's.

Lots of great tips here on how to deal with having enough bolts for your questing needs.

Also the ammunition vendor on guildship(only place in game AFAIK) sells masterwork bolts(but not arrows) for another quiver slot stacking option.

Best Choice atm is to have 4 Lvl Arti in a Rog Splash for Endles Fusilade with the 18 and Possible 12 Action Boost with Legendary Dreadnought and if u Splash 2 or 4 Fighter in u can get to 15 Action Boost with no Cooldown between using u shoot the **** out of most Mobs.

I Play a 12Rog/4Arti/4Fighter(a Option here is Monk and not Fighter,u run faster Deflect Arrows that very helpfull) Gnom.
