The XP Log needs to be visible “prior” to entering an instance. Perhaps by selecting the quest entrance, but prior to entering, a message can pop up stating and ransack, and positive or negative bonuses, or anything else relevant to the toons entering at that point. Something like the warning notes prior to entering the shroud due to notbeing flagged or the counter message.
