ghallanda - weekly twilight forge/titan awakes raid - wed 9pm est + saturday 11pm est

hi. it is rare for the group to fill up for the titan awakes raid that senility/steiner have been hosting on wednesdays at 9pm est.

some people have told us that they cannot attend the wednesday evening run. so we have decided to try running another twilight forge/titan awakes raid on saturdays at 11pm est before the heroic abbot raids. we will see if we can get people to join for this, and if so, we will try to run the raid twice a week.

so the current schedule for raiding is as follows:

tuesdays 10pm est: heroic ascension chamber raid x2

wednesdays 9pm est: twilight forge/titan awakes raid (hosted by senility/steiner)

saturdays 11pm est: twilight forge/titan awakes raid
saturdays 12am est midnight: heroic ascension chamber raid x2


as usual, if you need help flagging for either the ascension chamber raid or getting the sigil of dal quor from restless isles for the titan raid, let me know.

wow, yay, we were able to get a full raid party for tonight's titan raid.

(it helped that we preceded the 11pm titan raid with hephaestas running the cannith raids, and followed the titan raid with the abbot raids at midnight)

the raid went well, except we did not have senility or steiner to lead the way through the green puzzle rooms, so we had to solve it ourselves following the wiki guide. but we got it done, having one person stuck in a room for a little bit.

wow!! yay, I pulled a mythic Shining Crescents!! we were beginning to think in the last Titan Raid that the Shining Crescents no longer dropped, because we had not seen it drop in any of the previous Titan raids.

hi - we had another successful run of the titan raid tonight. it was a close but very exhilarating run, with it coming down to the last pillar to take down the titan's shield (there was some glitch where 2 pillars toppled after a laser strike, leaving only 1 pillar left).

we had 5 named item drops in this run:
jungle cloak
skull fetish mask
nullcloth gown (+2 mythic armor boost)
centurion armor (+2 mythic armor boost)
belt of brute strength (+1 mythic bonus)


we will try running the titan raid again at 11pm again on saturday night, 1 hour before the heroic abbot runs.

last Saturday, we grouped together for another Titan raid, but failed on the Titan Awakes raid. I had volunteered for the laser cannon operation, and had difficulty targeting the fire button, so my late firing caused us to lose 2 pillars. There was another instance where a pillar fell spontaneously, and in the end we did not have enough pillars to successfully take down the titan.

This Wednesday, Senility hosted again for the Titan raid. In the Twilight Forge (the pre-raid), our first run failed because we messed up the green puzzle room... If only there was some reset lever that could open all the doors and reset all the puzzles. It just shows how if you are doing the green puzzle room with pets or via dimension door, there is that risk of one room's puzzle becoming unsolvable if it becomes vacant prematurely. So we had to reset.

The second run of the Twilight Forge we were able to complete after some time... but one of our party members unknowingly activated the mindflayer end boss, locking out 10 of the 12 raid members.... eep. I was a bit surprised, but this kind of thing can happen if we do not fully explain to newcomers the particular lockout mechanics on a raid. we had most of the raid members drop out after that though.

we decided to go for a third round, and completed the Twilight Forge pre-raid after about an hour and a half (it took us a long long time to figure out the underwater red puzzle and the green puzzle room). Fortunately, Seraphemia joined us and volunteered as the lumberjack (nobody else wanted to try it). I have to say it was really fun and nerve-wracking watching this go down, but they completed it!

Unfortunately, we had dismal drops tonight:

Battle Coin (mythic +1)
+2 upgrade tome of skill (Listen +1 to +2)
+2 upgrade tome of Strength (+1 to +2)
Titan's Fist (mythic +2)

but thanks to all for sticking it through, and sorry to those who had to leave after the second attempt. I will definitely vocalize that lockout going forward.

I got on late for Saturday night, and completely missed the scheduled Titan raid at 11pm est because I took a late train.

We ran the 2 abbot runs as usual, but then received an inquiry for the Titan raid, so we decided to run it afterwards.

Everything went well......... although I say that and I was just hanging out in Tempest's Spine, waiting for latecomers to throw greater teleports to the twilight forge. So the others finished the pre-raid and I basically did not do anything.

the minimum level to run the Titan Awakes raid is level 9.

pretty smooth titan raid run, finally got to witness most of the actual twilight forge pre-raid myself since everyone was able to greater teleport to the twilight forge entrance by themselves (normally I wait for latecomers in heroic tempest spine to throw out the greater teleport as a shortcut to the twilight forge volcano entrance).

saturday 7/29/17 11pm est run

very exciting stuff - we had helitha come in as lumberjack, and camahl acting as laser operator, both relatively new to their respective assignments, but able to pull off stripping the titan warforged. it was great, I am always watching with /popcorn and /fingernails hanging from the ladder. it was overall a great group communicating with each other, and we had a number of drops:

skull fetish mask (mythic +1)
chattering ring (mythic +1)
bravo's sword (mythic +2)
nullcloth gown


going forward, camahl will be putting up the saturday raid lfm; he will start with the cannith raids (master artificer + lord of blades) at saturday 9pm est, followed by the titan raid at 11pm est, the heroic abbot raids at 12am midnight est, and then possibly another raid to follow (maybe chronoscope/citw/defiler).

senility (on his alt michaelsson) hosted the titan raid again today; we made good work of it splitting into 2 teams for the red and green puzzle.

In the twilight forge pre-raid quest, I was assigned for the first time to lead the red underwater puzzle, and (following ddowiki) Vivand, Deekinn and I were able to get it done holding our breaths. it was good experience for me.

The actual raid itself was uneventful, and disappointing - I did not pull anything as usual.

We had the following named drops:

Bravo's Sword (mythic +2)
+2 upgrade tome of Move Silently

I reminded everyone to turn in the raid to Karn, and went to turn in myself - wow, what a surprise. My reward list was full of named items! It was my 20th titan raid run.

and it had the Seven Fingered Gloves I sought after all this time. I was pleasantly exhilarated.
I also saw a weapon on the reward list that I do not recall seeing drop in any of the previous titan raids we ran - Bereavement.
of course, though, I chose the Seven Fingered Gloves.

now I can finally run the titan raid with my other characters.

tonight was camahl's first night taking over the saturday raids, and leading the saturday titan raid at 11pm after his cannith raids run.

camahl tried to figure out the green puzzle room in the twilight forge by trial and error, but we did not want to keep the group waiting too long, so we ended up following the ddowiki walkthrough (it still took us a while to finish but we are becoming a bit more familiar/confident).

for the actual titan awakes raid, camahl was assigned as lumberjack - the first 2 pillars did not fall at the expected angles; we figured out to camahl's horror that ranging the bottom pillar supports does not work. so he switched to melee, but he would have to topple the 6 other pillars without fail, coordinating with hephaestas' laser operation...

...

and surprisingly, they managed to do it.
it was kettle /popcorn all over again.

Michaelson (Senility) ran the Titan raid again this Wednesday evening. I got there really late into the Twilight Forge pre-raid, because I was running Crystal Cove while the doors were open.

So basically I got into the Twilight Forge, just as they were finishing the green puzzle room.

this saturday night, camahl ran the titan raid again after the cannith raids, and went well overall. there were some latecomers, and due to the shortage of crystals, had a few players getting fried in the colored halls of the twilight forge.

after gathering at the end, we were able to run the actual titan raid and it went smoothly - good coordination again with laser cannon operator and lumberjack.

yesterday, in Camahl's Titan raid, we were able to take down the Titan Warforged again, with the following drops:

on wednesday 8/23/17, we ran the Titan raid, and it went smoothly.

next run is Saturday night at around 11pm est.

we ran the twilight forge raid around 11:30 pm this saturday evening (8/26/17) after hephaestas led the Cannith raids and Mark of Death raid.

our very own kozha was assigned to lead the green tile room puzzle, with hephaestas leading the underwater red puzzle.

kozha inadvertently took a dimension door prematurely in one of the locked puzzle rooms, which ended up breaking the green puzzle side, so we had to restart. no big deal -
kozha and deekinn definitely have gotten the hang of the green puzzle room.
Since the party has to split up at the colored hall crossroads in the Twilight Forge , you only get to experience/witness limited parts of the puzzles, so it is great to see people becoming more familiar with the puzzle rooms.

After resetting, kozha and deekinn had no problem finishing.
unfortunately, it turned out that one of the black force barriers was still up -- we had forgotten to pull one of the security levers, and we could not figure out which it was. after blaming kozha for messing up again, with the help of seraphemia we found that one of the levers in the purple rooms had not been pulled.
poor kozha.

the titan awakes raid went smoothly with the following drops:

the wednesday (8/30/17) titan raid ran by senility went well, although I was unable to personally attend because we were flagging a few players for the cannith raids to follow. he was able to fill out the group, and had a good amount of drops, with 2 seven fingered gloves dropping:

2 x skull fetish masks
(there were also 2 named item drops from the twilight forge):
ring of caustic persuasion
helm of freewill * (this has been an occasional drop in the pre-raid quest from the underwater chest in the red/blue puzzle room area - it is a decent ml11 item with fear immunity and spell resistance, with 2 augment slots)

we also ran an impromptu off-schedule titan raid on the following day thursday (8/31/17) to accommodate some players that could not make the wednesday run, and were able to fill out the group as well, with the following named item drops:
