Just a little progress report. New to polish a few more things before I post the next release, probably over the weekend some time.

    18-7-2017
Most settings now store to an ini file, not the registry (a couple seem to bypass this new mechanism, but I will work on them)
You can now select gear and apply augment selections (standard augments only). Effects don't yet apply but will soon.
But only have 1 item setup so far, will start to flesh out the list and work on the item editor at some point.

    17-7-2017
Start up flickering self flagellation reduced (this was causing lock up for some users)
    Bad test items fixed
Lost fate points on a destiny switch fixed
Added test item - Sightless Helm
    Augments file now loaded
    Started item selection dialog
    - lists available items in slot
    - Allows item selection
    - Shows available augment slots

    A bit more progress today.

    19-7-2017
Equipped Gear Items now save / load correctly
Item effects now apply although bonus type not yet included
Item effects now revoke on item change
Battle Engineer enhancement tree updated to U36

Next aim is to get more items setup so that an overall user experience can round out.
Still need to sort some more issues with gear sets as the planner lets you create more gear sets, but changes always effect the "Standard" gear set you start with.

Default Alpha Build 1.0.0.1 Now Available on GitHub

So I worked on the equipment subsystem and defined 3 Legendary Slavelord items, Shackles, chains and rings and added almost all the augments for them.
Effects now have bonus types so multiple bonuses of the same type no longer stack.
Gear sets are currently disabled so you can only use the default gear set at the moment..

See my signature for a link to the latest release. As always any bug reports or suggestions would be nice

Latest updates, although not yet available (Will be in build 1.0.0.2 later this week)

Aim is to have more gear added incrementally on each release, but there is so much of it, it will take a while.
Will be adding guild buffs interface next, you just enter your guild level and say apply guild buffs (on/off flag)
Will also aim to add item tooltips and maybe level tooltips (so you can mouse over and find out what is needed to be done for a given level).
When it comes to upgradable items, I assumed all items have been upgraded to their maximum potential - some issues with Necro 4 items as some upgrades are slots, not sure how to handle this yet.

    24-7-2017
Spell powers now use correct skill for base spell power
Only effects with non-zero contributions are now listed (stops set bonus's which you do not yet qualify for showing up in the list)
Efficiency issue when training racial past lives fixed
Created GuildBuffs.xml file with all current ship and legacy buffs that still have an effect in advance of applying guild buffs by guild level.
    Started adding level 20+ Rings
NOTE: Any previous character designs with equipped gear which had no levels now no longer load (sorry)

    23-7-2017
Effect skill bonus's can be by base ability
Effect "CriticalDamageBonus" renamed "Seeker" internally to better reflect DDO systems
Lots of additional bonus types added
New augments added to handle Erudition, Subterfuge and Prowess items/sets
All level 20+ trinkets added (Highest level version of each)

    21-7-2017
Arch-Mage: Spell Penetration effect now has correct vector size
Effects will now add to the total correctly for all bonus types
    Bonus types now displayed
All effects had bonus types added
NOTE: Any previous character designs with equipped gear which had effects now no longer load (sorry)

    Default Name Change

I do have a request that you modify your program name. I know that we do not have a copyright on the name DDO Character Planner but I would like to prevent confusion for the end users for which program they currently are using. I do hope all works out for you in your log term project with your planner as it is a lot of work to maintain the project. I to wish to get some of the additional trackables added to the program, but before that can happen I need to get an easy way for all the current data to be edited without errors. That will be one of my next steps before adding destinies and equipment.

    Best of luck.

To that end, some words to consider:

    Creator
    Designer
    Maker
    Modeler

I deliberately avoided the word "Planner" when naming mine to differentiate it from Ron's planner. Something like "Build Creator" or "Character Designer" might work. Just spitballing.

A sensible thing t do. Didn't mean to step on the other planners toes.
I probably can't rename the GitHub project but I will rename the executable.
I'll get that n the next release.

GitHub will allow a rename. I went through a few renames when setting up the DDO Character Planner. It is a little work, but can be done.

    Nice output, I like it.

Minor quibble: I might put the skill totals below the skills table instead of above. I'd also include a Skills Spent line if any level has unspent (or overspent) points.

EDIT: I'm a little confused by the enhancements section. It appears to be listed in order taken within a tree, but there's no indication what order to take the enhancements between trees. If it's not a leveling guide you could save some space by consolidating duplicate enhancements.

EDIT 2: I don't see v1.0.0.7 available for download. The latest listed is v1.0.0.5. I wanna play with the shiny!

Playing with v1.0.0.5 in anticipation of the new version, here's the issues I ran across setting up my Kensei Warpriest build:

    Stats
    • I tried to create the 28pt version, but couldn't figure out how. I ended up just doing the 32pt version instead.
    • There's no total points spent anywhere, only remaining. When I went back just now to verify, I had to remove all stat points to see what was left in the Available Build Points field. (32) Doing so removed several feat selections (Power Attack, THF, etc...) but when I raised my stats back up I didn't get those feats back. If you create a build, save it, then six months later open it back up, how would you know if it was a 28pt or 32pt build?

    Level Up
    • Feats: As far as I can tell, there's only a single indicator (pink background) if that level has unfilled feat slots. Once all slots are filled, there's no way to see which levels have feat choices.
    • Feats: It won't let me choose any Deity feats. The feat dropdowns for my deity selections are blank.
    • Feats: It won't let me choose any of the Tactical Training or the Heavy Armor Training fighter bonus feats. (There's 4 of each, all independent, not prereq chains.)
    • Feats: It won't let me choose Least Dragonmark of Passsage. The only dragonmark my human can choose is Making.
    • Skills: I'd move the Spent At Level column all the way to the left, next to Skill Name. It was scrolled off my window so it was tough to figure out for a bit.
    • Skills: On a usability note, it's a bit tedious assigning skills. You have to click the level, then click the skill, then click the + button for each skill raise. It's a lot of clicking and a lot of mouse movement. I'm intrigued by the Auto Spend button, but it's grayed out.
    • Skills: There's no indicator for what levels have completed skills and which levels still have points to spend.

    Spells
    • It only lets me choose level 1 cleric spells. My build gets up to level 4 cleric spells.
      • Correction: It's there when I load the build, but when I was creating the build to start with, after assigning all my class levels the spell screen only gave me level 1 spells.
    • Minor note: There's no spell descriptions when choosing from the dropdown. You can get to a description by slotting a spell then hovering over it, then unslotting it if it's not the one you want. A little awkward, but it works.

    Enhancements
    • Human: It lets me take Orien Dragonmark Focus, which is nice because that's what I want, but it should require Least Dragonmark of Passage, which I want but couldn't take.
    • Kensei: Weapon Group Specialization is named Kensei Focus
    • Kensei: Opportunity Attack is set up as 3 ranks, 1 AP per rank, but in-game it's only 1 rank and costs 2 AP

    Epic Destiny
    • I can (and am required to) select core abilities, but they're auto-granted in-game. I get that you're using the cores to let the user say how many points they have to spend in that tree, and I guess it's kinda required for your final stat breakdowns (otherwise everyone would get all cores immediately), but it's kind of weird.

One overall note I have is that it's a bummer that anything invalid gets immediately removed. It would be nice if, for example, re-arranging stat points just to see what's possible didn't immediately remove taken feats, and then the enhancement and destiny abilities that require those feats.

For example, if I lower my strength to 12, I get two popups. The first says that some or all of Legendary Dreadnought was revoked, and the second lists five feats that got revoked.

Bug: After those two popups, if I then go to File => Open and re-open Kensei Warpriest.ddocp, my strength still shows 12 and nothing changes. I have to close the build first before I can re-open it.

EDIT: Here's a screenshot if you want to see how it looks "in the wild." I run 1920x1080 with custom scaling set to 125%, and tweaked the windows and columns to fit as comfortably as possible.

The levels are a bit squished.

I will look into moving the skill totals about on the output. The forum export code is very new and the layout will be in flux for quite a while during further development.

Enhancements are tracked internally by purchase order in a specific tree. This allows you to automatically revoke enhancements in a tree using right clicks on that tree.

The build is there for download. Unfortunately GitHub lists it as about 5th in the list of releases on the release page linked (at least for me) Renamed it to the same format as the others, but was not moved to the top of the list. It has a green latest release button next to it on my display.

Ah, I totally see it now, I'm an idiot. Thanks much!

    Two minor things:

Installing 1.0.0.7 overwrote my window settings. Ideally updates would preserve user preferences. (I like the black color scheme; not sure if that's new to 1.0.0.7 or if I just didn't see it in 1.0.0.5.)

I see you save granted feats in the build file. I would caution against that, as they do sometimes change granted feats. For example, they just recently added Light Hammer and Warhammer proficiency to artificers. Would a previously saved artificer build reflect those proficiency changes?

EDIT: Regarding enhancement order, I agree with the data design, I just meant that you could tighten up the output format.
