How does one get a pet rock

He did indeed, and I was lucky enough to be there. I also picked up more than I needed intending to put them in the guild chest for people who weren't as lucky as me, not realising that most of it was BtCoA. My bad. I'll remember to check in future.

One question though: If I transfer my Hardcore toon to my regular server after the event has finished, will my pets come with me? I picked up an Invisible Stalker on the Hardcore Server and I'm pretty sure I don't have that one on my regular server.

It's true: once added to your Creature Companion stable, the community giveaway pets will not come with you to the transferred server. That sounds like a good reason to, towards the end of the event, go a little drop-crazy on some of these long-term community giveaway pets. When that happens, pick up the certificate but don't add it yet, and just bring the certificate with you to the new server.

I hear that if you run into one of Cordovan's characters and input this code "/emote pokes your belly" while targeting his character he will drop a pet rock certificate, sometimes you must do this multiple times before he does this reaction........... anyhow wish you luck

I prefer less restrictive settings on these to facilitate easier giveaways. It does raise the issue of people grabbing and trying to re-sell, but I've long said that the answer to that is to just not buy it and get in touch with me if it's really that important to ya. Ultimately the sheer number available helps to outweigh those less charitably-minded.

I think it is more about how the pet rock is btc, so it can't be sold anyways. So any extra copies of the pet would just need to be thrown out instead of someone else getting one when they don't have it already.

Except the only people who are really penalized are those who don't have it already. It is not hard to destroy items (if you aren't a pack rat).
