How does one get a pet rock

I've seen few people with them but i am still jealous because i have a lot of pets and that one would be awesome. I was just wondering if there were anyway to get it and i would even pay for it easy as pie because i enjoy spending money on my favorite game.

As far as I know Cordovan sometimes gives them away during events, and that is the only way to get them.

The most reliable way to get a pet rock is to wait (quietly) in a disused quarry with a net and a handful of moss, then, when one gets close (this may take a few years), quickly pounce on it with the net, and feed it small pieces of moss (this may take a few years) until it imprints and recognises you as its mummy.

It's too time-consuming to try and tame a wild adult rock. It's a little more dangerous, but your best bet is to collect them as soon as they are born so they naturally imprint on you.

thank you so much - it is great that cordovan took time out today to distribute pet rocks on the servers.

he did admit that the pet rock is just painted over the frog cosmetic companion, but you can actually see this for yourself - if you have the pet rock follow you in a brightly lit area, or if it follows you as you are jumping, you can see the shadow of a frog under the rock model.

anyway, I still think that the pet rock should be a rare drop from the Heart of Madness / Palace of Stone quest, either from a chest in the Museum of Stone section, or as a rare end reward. If it could be added to the loot table for that quest, it would make such a great incentive, because it is so thematically relevant to that quest.

I did also randomly drop about 200 per server on each of the game worlds. I'm sure they were all placed for very reasonable prices on the Auction Houses...

Unfortunately not, they're not tradeable, mailable or auctionable. Btc on aquire. A proper rare item as is.

Edit: Yeah, I'm now stuck with 3 spare certificates (I didn't mean to pick 3 up). I was planning on giving them away/ donating to the guild. They're just taking up space but I don't want to destroy them.

I am not sure if you were being facetious about that, but the pet rock certificates are bound to character on acquire.

I am glad the pet rocks are btcoa. I remember you accidentally spawned a bunch of cyan gelatinous cube certificates on ghallanda instead of the pet rocks, and someone grabbed a bunch of them, and then over the course of the next few weeks, I saw them being auctioned off in multiples on the astral exchange.

For the pet rock, you should make it a rare quest drop from the Heart of Madness and Palace of Stone quests, either in a chest in the Museum of Stone section, or as a rare end reward. It makes so much sense, and it would drive people to that content.

.... just like if you could make the Thinking Cap a super rare drop from the Lord of Blades Cannith raid.
