I have prepared a previously abandoned toon at level 8 to try the challenges of ROGUE Part Quatre. I don't have much experience in stealthy characters, but I am enjoying the challenge and learning a new game inside the game. I ran the challenges for level 2, 4 and 6 out of level, but even so I enjoyed them and learnt a lot. Now I have completed Gwyland's Stand. I needed several tries to finish it as requested in the post. For me, the west complex was the hardest part, especially the boss. Even using bluff and noisemakers to isolate him partially, he was not far enough from all the other mobs, so I had to kill in front of some other mobs, then run behind a column, back to sneak and escape as best as possible. Any other way to do it?
By the way, the 4 kills in Saekee post are for sure due to one of the bosses had the final blow in one of the traps and counts as misadventure. It also happened to me in on of the tries. Apart from that, the number of "misadventures" changed slightly from run to run depending on the number of mobs that fell in their own traps. I assume that mobs falling in their own traps are ok for a stealthy challenge.

hey great stuff Spellburst, and at level 8! Yes, misadventures from using enemy traps against them is great! I would like to do some challenge quest in which most of the kills are misadventures--maybe Mask of Deception.

Remember this is just a workbook--not an official call--but you can re-use those screenies when I post the new thread. Thanks for the feedback too.

I was spotted a few times and had to Benny Hill the aggro train.

Claw of Vulkoor with breakables is insane.

I am looking now at Lordsmarch quests like Blockade Buster (too good to pass up) and maybe even Relic of a Sovereign Past--haven't decided--so
many great stealth quests in the 12-15 range.

    Default Maraud the Mines

I think this should be a no-kills quest. I killed the general on the plateau before finishing with the final gems (this is why I got an alert); I also ganked the last general after completing just to show as a possibility (third picture). The reason why I would like to elminate these two kills is that it makes things extremely difficult for stealthy non-assassins.

I did Frame work with one kill and did not raise the alarm (optional). But my toon died trying (jibbered out, died again, rezed). Embarrassing...The odd thing is that I had crazy levels of DA fighting the chieftain, but the alarm was not raised. Go figure. What a mess DA creates with quests.

My build does not have haste boost yet so will retry towards end of level 13 with more AP--need a good burst of DPS for that boss to avoid alarms/DA.

here is my Frame Work messy "completion." My thoughts on this were posted here in another thread about DA. If I had haste boost, it would have gone much better...

I won't lie...this took a few tries...I nearly ransacked it...Gnoll boss runs to the alarm bell FAST, even with a grease spell under his claws

I am looking for recommendations for the last heroic challenges.
    Right now:
    1) The Crucible --simply completing it
    2) Mask of Deception. This is a great stealth quest. I would like to suggest a goal in this quest of misadventure kills.
    3) Through a Mirror Darkly--no kills right before elevator to end fight. (Stealthy people will thank me for this challenge because then you will learn how to xp farm the quest in epics)
    4) edit: Running with the Devils. This is a great 'moral' stealth quest

Mask and Mirror are both level 16...

I am still looking for a fun challenging level 18-19 quest

For Crucible, killing everything in the final hallway is a required objective ("Fight your way to the Arena of Power"). Otherwise the min kills would have been 3 for the final fight. A screenshot showing the final hallway door opened (horn placed) with 0 kills should do it.
rethinking Dreppo's suggestion on the Crucible. I think my reserve on a no-kills Crucible end point is that you need to use a hireling in the maze. With mobs wandering around, and shooting from above...the hireling will get toasted. With much fidgeting and retries, I am sure that it is possible. However, that falls too much upon a tricky/problematic hireling AI.

I think I need some stealth training. I like playing stealthy rogues and rangers. I've never come close to the skill saekee demonstrates.

thanks! See links in my sig for tips.

It really helps to use noisemakers, flaming spheres, invisi footfalls (less effective due to champs), stacking faster sneak movement from at least two trees (ninja, assassin, DWS) etc. I could not have done all of these without noisemakers so the trapmaking feat is key.

    Default the Crucible

No way was this going to be a minimum kills quest. It is hard enough doing it at all under level, let alone with a hireling and all the maze confusion.
I did this with a hireling, really just for the levers in the maze. (That is a Xoriat summon sneaking into the photo behind me.)

I am not sure about this sentence (about Claw of Vulkoor). Are those attacks that do not break stealth? I am thinking about how to break breakables without being noticed, apart from taking all enemies far away. In epic levels Improved Invis can help, in heroic levels not sure if there is any possibility or you just have to take enemies far away. The same for using a flaming sphere scroll not far away from enemies. Any help about this will be welcome.

yes! Eldritch cleave and sweeping strikes do not break stealth. At level 12 an assassin can even use assassinate to break objects. Another option is to anger enemies so they hunt aggressively for you; move briefly above a breakable and then they will eventually attack that location, breaking it for you!
You can do it with just noisemakers and then getting far away with a throwing weapon. I did that with most of them.
An SDK can use its core ability to remain invisible while attacking although some champs with true sight will see you. (An SDK can be used for this challenge if levels are withheld for each trial).

I am glad for your interest Spellburst. Still putting this together though--am looking at Mask and Mirror next.

    I am trying:
16: Running with the Devils--no kills to last shrine (last area)
17: Mask of Deception: x number of misadventures
18: Through a Mirror Darkly: 0 kills before elevator to end fight
19: Blow to Bits: Complete quest with misadventures only

    Default Mask of Deception

I got a lot of misadventure kills (83). Probably could have gotten even more. Noisemakers, flaming spheres, even intentionally causing aggro and kiting them through. I finally was killed lol from pushing the experiment. I think a fair number is 60. I used wilderness lore for a fat 22 misadventures; without that, one must use respawning troops around the red-named.

new aggro mess has made a stealth run of Running with the Devils nigh-impossible. I might try it again at level 18...but those guys have an insane spot skill and get skittish even around noisemakers.

I will do Mirror next once I get through the tedious pre-quests.

    Default Through a Mirror Darkly

No kills until end fight. Misadventures were from the shadow puppets or something like that. No idea...

I got some alert when I finished with the shadows around Aurolace. Until then I had no alert at all. This is definitely easier on a build with shadow veil.

    Default Good Intentions

This one is very easy--I am not familiar with the quest so did not realize that nibbles can be underwater. Perfectly logical for a squirrel...

Goal: get to end fight without any kills. I might move this up to legendary challenge

toyed around in Sins of Attrition. Yes, I can shift hallway fights to a bare minimum but I cannot isolate the big table selection red-named. Perhaps after tons of tries but that is not the spirit of this.

ugh. Blown to Bits with new aggro rules is tough to do with no kills. I will try again at level 19 and stalk up on invisi scrolls and petrify runestones...
