    Default impractical crit build

    so a while back i did a 75k crit as a melee. there was some cheese, there was some bad luck and bad play (did roll 19/20, fat fingered myself out of opportunity attack), and it wasnt a build dedicated to trying to achieve stupidly high crits.

    while i am nowhere near ready to try to achieve the highest melee crit possible, if i am even inclined to do so if the time should come, heres what i think would be the build to do it with:

    thoughts? would a wf be better for the mp instead of % helpless dmg? is an 8/6/6 maul build going to come out ahead due to having more mp (i think they do, right)? i think this beats both of those but i havent done any math so im open to being surprised.

    I assume the 75k crit was with fury? Because our highest blitz crit was around 40k pre-reaper with the 18F/2M build
    It can be even higher as a half-orc. But 75k? That's new

    Also, about silvanus 8/6/6 builds; I tried them on 3 different lives, the dps is higher than 18/2, but your burst damage is lower and you will never see the crits that the 18/2 axe build can pull off. Overall the crit profiles of silvanus are much better, but you lose a lot of HP and tactics DC. I didn't like it and I tred out of it.
    Back during the slave lords update, it was way too overkill on dps and too squishy compared to 18/2.

    I think my new favourite for reaper would be 18F/2M falchion & khopesh, half-orc for Brutality!
    But I still need more Rpast lives for it

    Your second build is better balanced, IMO, although I'd probably start CON 16 INT 14; or possibly INT 13 DEX 10 so you can take Precision and Dodge+Mobility earlier on. Orcish Rage uncenters you, so it's not the best choice for a monk / kensei, IMO; also it might not play nice with defensive stance (most Rage effects don't). Rather than Ninja, I'd probably spend more APs on Shintao to get Iron Skin; either PrE will give you Fists of Iron.

    was almost a year ago, and like i said despite the fact that there was some cheese involved it was still a whiff if you look closely. was fury though which isnt a good destiny for melee dps, but the build was a pure fighter which is good for dps not big crits and normally specced for esos/falcs. i literally just specced for axes and went in there fishing for a fun number on a whim, and when that happened by accident and is what i consider a failure given it clearly was not at the top end of even that builds potential, i said good enough.

    yea i never gave maul builds any thought because they 0% interest me, but afaik they are 2 multipliers behind but potentially ahead by a little bit of mp. 70 mp vs 105 mp from enhancements right? 60 from kensei, 10 from henshin core 1, 35 from the rest of the henshin cores? after looking it seems to me that henshin is only 10 mp x 3 cores (6 monk) and another 5 if you went into the t4, so thats a 25 mp lead. still solid but i dont think its outweighing 2 multi. not to mention i forgot you cant do a maul build as a horc anyway so thats a loss of base dmg and 20% helpless mod.

    barb isnt close either i think. iirc they are short a multiplier and a bunch of mp. base dmg mod they probably pull ahead with fresh storms eye but that wouldnt be enough.

    the starting stats suggestions do not work for me at all. what happens when you get to level 30 and you are sitting there with less skill points, and a marginal gain in hp or *gasp* 10 dex on a thf build? what kind of insane horror are you trying to subject me to? i think i messed up taking mobility because between dodge + sdk pls + dodge enhancements that should be 12% dodge, plus a 15% dodge item is 27% which exceeds the cap and mobility only raises the soft cap imposed by armor not the innate cap. moot point though because...

    i also quite forgot that orcish rage explicitly states that it uncenters you. somewhatkindamaybe kills the build for me. very disappointing. also i utterly did not consider the fact that it is orcish *rage* and may not function like any old action boost. if it doesnt function with defensive stance...that probably erases horc as a dps contender race in my mind. they really make you pay for that 20 mp and 2 str huh? then again...perhaps it does count more as a rage than an action boost and can be used simultaneously with ld damage boost. then at least horc would be in a good/better(?) spot for a max crit build potentially. need someone with vet 7 to test this, or it will be a while before i ever get around to it (which would primarily only be for racial tr...so maybe never). i guess it still wouldnt matter because of uncentering though. amusing. frustrating. amusing. hmm.

    i had meant to see if i could fit both ninja spy and shintao for iron skin, but forgot and only thought about ninja just out of habit from the old 12/6/2 days. if i had to pick one, which i think would be the case, i guess id lead towards shintao and keep mobility. huh. come full circle, we have.
