    Default PDK Paladin of Helm

For my next life, i am thinking to play a PDK paladin.
Goal is to have PDK past life and paladin past life

As i will not use lesser heart, that means some fighter level. Probably Ftr2/Pal18

Going Tower Shield + Bastard Sword
Follower of Helm, so it give me bastard sword

    For feats (heroics): 7 feats+2 (fighter)+1 (pdk)
THF line (3 feats) , shield line (2,3 or 4 feats ?)+ Empower healing and Improve critical
    Tier5 Kotc and core 18 (41 pts)
Tier4 Sacred Defender and core 18 if possible (31 pts ?)
5 pts in PDK for Cormyrean Knight Training

That means going full CHA (Attack, damage, Save, LoH,...)

I know that Vanguard would probably be better with a shield, but i want to try something different

    1) Has anyone tried something like this (haven't found any build for Helm Followers)
    2) Any feat/enhancement i should try to add to my build ?
    3) I go for split 2/18, but i am open to other suggestions

My main is a PDK 20 paladin. Not uber by any stretch. But for leveling the build you wrote about will work well. For enhancements 82 with 2 racial I spent 3 in PDK. 42 in KOTC. 25 in Sacred def. 12 in vanguard to get stunning shield. All level up stats are to chr. Feats: Toughness; shield mastery, force of personality, improve shield bash, improved shield mastery, empower healing, improved critical slashing, two handed fighting, epic toughness, overwhelming critical, perfect 2 weapon fighting, epic damage reduction, Tatics, dire charge, blinding speed, scion of arborea,

what do you want from the second fighter level?
how about monk to pick up some melee power and more heal amp?
even paladin 19 has merits, because you gain another spell slot (for example for deathward or CSW)

Normally I'd say go pure pally for the capstone, but if you're unwilling to LR +1, then pal 19, ftr 2, monk 1, cleric / FvS 1, or wiz 1 all have advantages.

Pal 19: extra lvl 4 spell slot (CSW or DW)
Ftr 2: extra feat, access to tier-2 Enhancements (e.g., passive AC bonuses from Stalwart D. which stack w/Sacred D. passives)
Monk 1: extra feat, +10 MP from Henshin, heal amp & Pos Spellpower from Shintao
cleric or FvS 1: cheaper Div Might, free Magical Training, Righteous Weapons for extra +1 bonus
Wiz 1: extra feat, free Magical Training, EK Cleave for extra AoE atk, Imp Mage Armor for +10% AC

    Thanks to all replies

I know that going pure allow to get the capstone, but without any LR, it is not possible

I didn"t noticed that lvl 19 allowed an extra 4th level spell. But not sure if i really need it (Cocoon and LoH should be enough, and if i go KotC Tier5, Sealed Life will make DW less useful)

My first idea was to go Ftr2 for extra feat, but i didn't think to 1lvl of Monk (or Wiz)
1 lvl of Cleric of Fvs doesn't add a lot (Divine Might is not very useful on a PDK who will use Cha to hit/damage)

    Back to drawingboard.
Choice will probably be fixed by the AP i spent outside paladin class. Lot of possibilities

    Thanks for the feedback
