List of skill tomes?

Hey, how do I tell which skill tomes each character has? Is there any way to get a list of what your character has?

Log in with a character, open up the character sheet (hotkey C), go to the skill tab, hover your mouse pointer over the total skill bonus of the skill you are curious about and wait a second or two to bring up a pup up tooltip type thing that breaks down your total bonus into general categories (base ranks, stat bonus, enchantments, tomes, etc).

If you have used a tome, it will say Tome (+#) showing the value of the tome used. If you have not used a skill tome for that skill on that character, there will be no 'tome' line at all.

(I'm at work so I cant double check. pretty sure it was hover over the total value... though it could simply be the skill name as well)

Ability tomes can be seen similarly, but those also grant feats that you can see in your feats tab. Alas, skill tomes do not grant feats, so those you have to hover over the skill itself to double check tome usage.

Nope, better write these things down in your character bio. Hovering your cursor over a skill will only show that you're receiving a bonus from a skill tome, but it won't reveal what kind of tome you've consumed.

Yes, you hover over the total mod for a particular skill and it will show you if you have read a tome and it will tell you what bonus you are getting from it.

For example:

Base: 20.0
Tome (Inherent): 2.0
Ability: 9.0
Feats and Enhancements: 13.0
Effects: 13.0

Thus, for that specific skill, that character has read a +2 tome (or a +1 followed by a +1 to +2 upgrade tome).

What do you mean by "what king of tome you've consumed"? Skill Tomes of different values will show the value. It doesn't matter if it was a pure +2 tome or a +1 to +2 upgrade tome, the end result is still +2, and it does show that value.

Ability Tomes show up as feats and also show up in the same way on your character sheet in the stats tab when you hover over the number in the box that represents your current total stat.
Tomes of Fate are for fate points and are unrelated, but are also granted as feats and they tell you the value you're getting from them.
Then there are the skill tomes which as far as I know there are only the inherent bonus type ones, of various values, for each skill. You can see the value you are gaining from any read tomes as mentioned above.

Only other tomes are the unique ones from the Remnant trader, but those are for non-skill things like melee power, ranged power, spell power, prr & mrr.


However, the above example is from a first life character. Reading tomes do have ML requirements, and while tomes do persist through reincarnations, I do not know if it will only show the current value you are gaining due to your level or what. Either way, the bonus is automatically updated/applied when you read the ML to read the tome, so you can always double check at those levels to make sure.

+1 = ML 1
+2 = ML 5
+3 = ML 9
+4 = ML 13
+5 = ML 17

If you were a freshly reincarnated level 1 character and can't remember if you read a +4 or a +5 skill tome last, then I'm afraid you may have to wait until ML 17 to find out (of course, you also have to wait until then before you could even read a +5 anyways).

The other tomes (ability, fate, etc) grant feats that state how many times you were granted that feat, so it is easier for those.

This only works if you're at or higher level than the highest tome you've consumed!

If you're Lvl 8 and have consumed a +4 Balance Tome the character sheet will still only show Tome (Inherent): 2.0.

So when TRing and you pick up a new tome you can't be sure until you hit a level where your Tome bonus shown on character sheet stops going up!

Thanks for confirming what I posted at the end of my above post. I don't believe I've ever had a tome drop that was higher level than I could use, so it's never come up.

I have 8 toons and I use a spreadsheet to keep track of what tomes I have used. I have found it really handy when I find a tome and want to see which toon can use it.
