    Default VON 5 bridge jump

I am not a new player, but 'new player guidance' feels the right sort of place to ask this question.

I like VON 5/6, classic quest, run it enough times to be familiar, but not so many to be bored. However, I am embarassed to say that I have never got the hang of jumping around the barriers on the bridges. I put on jump, FF, and ... fail to land on the far side, bump off the edges and down into the lava.

Any tips? Do you need to jump at the very highest point of the girder? What spot are you aiming for once you float around the upright bit?

There is a rocky outcrop in the far right corner, jump up on there and onto the platform. Even if you land in the lava initially you should be able to make it onto this rock.

Edit, I'm assuming you are talking about the lower bridge, not the upper bridge

If you are on the right side then you want the right hand girder going up the bridge, get practically to the top before you jump off and around. Having Striding 30% is needed for this in order to land safely.

I don't run it much, but I think in addition to having enough jump and ff, you need to kind of jump out and away - then glide back in toward the bridge.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I was mainly meaning the RH lower bridge, I guess. I know LH upper needs lever for first barrier at least, as that is often the task I end up doing so as to be a bit useful!

Interesting. I will look out for that.

Sounds like a running jump. Maybe this is where I go wrong. I think my tendency is to hesitate.

There are ways to jump around every barrier ...
you need max jump & speed to make 1 of them ... the other 2 don't quite require max

For all of them you must jump from almost the top of the correct side (they are not the same) and then jump out at about a 45-75 degree angle & then coast your way back around to the spot just after where the strut structure hits the flat plane of the bridge,

Now, it really really helps to have a decent swim score so you float faster

Oo, swim score, I hadn't thought of that. Can easily buff that up. And thanks for answering the question about landing spot, that is definitely good to know.

Never generally get on with mouse look, but willing to try anything!

Now itching for next VON run to try some of this out...

On some of my slower characters I have found that chugging a haste pot can also help get me the last 5 or so feet that I may be missing (provided you don't already have haste in some manner that is).
CANNITH player. Recently returned to the game after 2 years, proudly back with Skunkworks my old crew. Finally hit completionist after 6 years on Pyrau (2017)!! Have 10 other epic characters across all play styles, some TRs.
