The kind that have filters that match on partial words? Such as the first four characters of that word.
Have fun, and don't forget to gather for buffs!

Does that mean "assess" is blocked too? And if so, how many times?

Steve Howe was voted "Best Overall Guitarist" in Guitar Player magazine five years in a row (1977–1981) and in 1981 was the first rock guitar player inducted into the Guitar Player Hall of Fame.
In my character bio the word "Abishai" was censored. Since that is a fictional word and a part of the game, with no partial words that jump out to me I was rather puzzled to find it censored.
Just do like the rest of us and shove something into it... Wait...
Seriously though, partial analyzers fail to letter sw@ps, sp aces, and enteric vocabularies. Although full word analysis fails to tacking a letter on (****q), so that's not really a solution either. However, once the "forbidden" part of a word is <50% of the content, one would imagine that it is no longer a case of concatenation and instead a casualty of censorship.
It's nearly pointless, someone will find a way around them; the two major methods are imposing penalties for offenses (not great) and social pressure (my rather large active guild doesn't swear on guildchat). Attempting automated censors*** just makes your playerbase slightly more creative in their attempts to express their opinion.
Yes, blacklist censorship does not work very well at all, it is a losing whack-a-mole battle. Though a whitelist chat censor would be pretty challenging to do well.
An improvement on the current blacklist censorship would be to use regular expressions, but blacklist censorship is still whack-a-mole no matter how you go about it.
Edit: oh, forgot to mention that one can disable the chat filter in your own client in the options, under gameplay settings I think?
but then you are intentionally bypassing the swear filter and risk getting handslapped or banned..
5. Profanity
The use of profanity is not permitted on our forums. The forums will filter out specific words, but you are responsible for all words you use whether they are filtered or not. Please do not attempt to circumvent this filter with creative spellings, use of special characters or other means.

For Abishai, maybe "bish" as that term is usually used when referring to a female dog in internet forums and memes
I've told it before, but...
I wanted to name my pet spider "Muffins," but it was blocked. Sadface. I get it, but still.
Then two seconds later, a toon named "Beastiality Necrophilia" runs by. Come on! That's just rubbing salt in the wound.
I've the filter off for a long time, but the game mechanic by which casters over come Spell Resistance used to be filtered. Maybe it still is. Spell ***********.
