Iirc last time it happened to me... i had tu run arouns the room, on top of 1 of the stairs he popped

Just ran this tonight on R1 and Valak didn't spawn for the end fight.
I ran around the room for over ten minutes, ran back to previous room and re-entered. No luck.

I've run this quest plenty of times before without any problem.
Cleared the whole dungeon and the 4 wights were in the final room... killed them like usual but no Valak.
Bummer.

The real question is why do you only have 440hp at level 21 and you need a cleric hire and a summon to do a level 6 quest?

Sorry, I arrived 10 minutes earlier and warned Valak you were coming for his book and then took him to Starbucks so he could lead his book club without that pesky little girl out front of his mausoleum
