Default Add "Use Rune Arm" automatic feat that can be used off of a hotbar

I used to run an artificer, but it was a real pain in the ass, because I play DDO with a gamepad, and all of my buttons are mapped, except "Use Rune Arm" which is only available as its own key-map. Should be a simple fix to add a feat that artificers get at level 1, which can be dragged to a hotbar and activated like every other ability.

Not sure what you're looking for here, Seph.

The "automatic charge up" toggle can be dragged to the hotbar.

The charge/fire button can also be mapped in settings to a specific button.

Looking for the "fire" ability to be something we can hotbar. Other than Jump and Block, it's the only thing I can think of that cannot be hotbarred currently (we have auto-attack for attacking). I already have all the buttons and button combos on my controller mapped for my other characters, so the only options right now are to change a mapping just to accommodate my artificer, or put it on the keyboard and be forced to use that at the same time, somehow.

This should be an easy fix.

This idea was discussed yesterday by the team. While technically just about anything is possible given development time, the way feats work behind the scenes would require a non-trivial amount of work to make this possible. It's a cool idea, though.

I don't know that this will quite fit your bill, but my wife just got me a gaming mouse that has several more buttons than I'm used to. One of the buttons is right where my thumb sits. I used the mouse software to map that button to left shift so I could block without having to use the keyboard. (Well, mostly so I could tumble more quickly, but still...) If your game pad software would allow you to map a button to a keyboard key, doing something similar might work for you.

That's damned disappointing, but thanks for bringing it up, Cordovan.

Looks like my artificer is staying shelved.

I think that would be a great option for the runearm to have a hotbar capable "fire". I love the auto-charge toggle. But right now the only key I found works for me is the ` or ~ key (above tab next to 1 on the keyboard)

Maybe while you are looking into that set it up so that it has the Number of the charge tier.

    i really like this idea.

i only rolled an artificer once, and it was... uncomfortable (?) to use the runearm

basically i'm fine with using other hotkeys, but since DDO has alot of shortcut hotkeys already, i found it hard to assign a new key
to using a runearm, that is not shift, ctrl or tab

making it an active feat like stealth or attack would be pretty handy indeed. nice idea!

Been a year and a half and I figured I'd ask again.

My artificer hasn't been played, and won't be without a hotbar charge/fire. I tried. Played 11 levels holding my gamepad over the keyboard so I could hit the runearm 'fire' button with my pinky, but that was awkward and uncomfortable. I liked the class, and would otherwise really enjoy playing an arti. Have a bunch of named crossbows in the bank, but I can't map one button on the controller for an ability I would be using on only 1/7th of the characters I actively play.

I'd be happy with this even if I were losing 1 or 2 shots per rune arm activation.
