Just would like to know dev decision on the argument. I need to know if my DDO gaming experience ends here.

Triple Heroic & Epic completionist. Eroic : 42/42 - Epic : 36/36 - Iconic : 12/12.
Already playing other game so I guess I will keep doing so.

I started playing SWKotor (I never played it before) and added in some DW8XL. I still play ddo, just not as much these days. I had to TR out of my Epic TRing Arti. Reaper looks interesting for Heroic Quests not so much for Epics (Thanks to the Lock out).
So I went from playing a couple of hours a day to a couple of hours a week and it feels so much better.
SWKOTOR is a good single player game, but once I was done with the story, I quickly lost interest.*
* OK, this was a while ago, so might be different now...
DDO: If a problem cannot be solved by the application of DPS, you're not applying enough.
What I'll never understand is why people talk about moving on to another game like it's some huge dramatic occurrence or like the developers are going to hear that a person stopped playing, rush over to break the emergency glass surrounding a giant red button, slam their hand on it to trigger a blaring alarm, and summon all hands on deck because xxElfDestroyerxx145 stopped playing.
It's normal and natural to not stick with a game for over a decade. All MMOs change dramatically over time so the odds of those changes making the game objectionable to any given player go up as time goes by as they accumulate.
When people go to an ice cream store and discover that the store is putting 5% more or 5% less pistachios in the pistachio ice cream or changing it's color or whatever, do they dramatically raise a finger into the air and announce, "And I shall never have pistachio ice cream AGAIN!"? And then wait for an audible *GASP* and *STUNNED LOOKS OF PANIC* from all onlookers.
I switched cell phone carriers the other day myself. Maybe I should have played some ominous organ music and issued a press release to mark the occasion.
How does your DDO experience end here exactly? Reaper is not in any way mandatory. It is only a option for those who want an additional challenge. Part of that challenge should be a level restriction. It is quite obvious that the DEVs have chosen to do this as a way of preserving the challenge. Take a well known game like wow. In wow you can go back to the content of the last expansion and blow right through it with zero challenge. The challenge is far from preserved. A less well known game like FFXIV makes it so that when you are over the level of the dungeon the game scales you down to it's level so that you are forced to experience the dungeon as intended. This is done to keep the challenge preserved. With Reaper you have the best of both worlds. You can still blow though dungeons in N,H,E at any level or you can have a challenge in reaper around the level of the dungeon. They give you the best of both worlds and you want to leave...
Actually, it's not an option precisely for many people who do want an additional challenge.
Devs made their (bad) decision, and have given no sign of re-thinking it. So that just means that me, who was in the audience for more challenge, doesn't bother with Reaper.
Now that Reaper is settled, devs, can we have more challenge, please? For those of us locked out of most Reaper?
My issue with Reaper is different than the level restriction. I asked the same question on the other forums, but I cant tell you the response I got. My response back was not to re-new VIP in June and leave the game. I'm curious what the dev response would be for you.

You are the one choosing not to play alts.
Casual player now investing way less than I used to into the game, playing 1-3 months at a time and still want nothing to do with Reaper. #improvepuggrouping#alldifficultiesmatter
IRCC he thought the game was hard enough.
"Just take off your gear and play underlevel!"
"Roll a new toon!"
In other words any farming or progression is a bad thing for people who want challenge. They need to run gimped and expect any experience of progression they obtain should be confined to 2-3 quests at "endgame."
In this kind of world shinies and enjoyment are mutually exclusive.
I don't consider Reaper a sensible and balanced challenge. I don't agree with nerfing player abilities or increasing mob damage to 11. there are better ways to challenge players other than doing that. I was hoping if there was going to be another difficulty setting it would be the perfect time to "do it right" by scaling quests balanced against the top "10%" of the player base. you know, like how elite was supposed to be before it went of the tracks.
edit: so cant you just ignore Reaper and still play?
I could but I can already defeat elite content solo or in a group without twink gear or not as a completionist or whatever. there is no up for me and I highly doubt the devs are going to design another difficulty setting just for my type of preferred challenge.

Well, I guess they did say the PC was about having all sorts of opinions...
So a friend just said that a Dev posted saying it will be level +6 as the cap. That means that at level 30 there will be almost 70 dungeons and raids which can be run.
Are people really saying this isnt enough content?
If anything, its Stormhorns on Heroic Reaper which is going to be the toughest. That is going to be run *at* level and on Reaper.
