    Default Wtb: Icy burst kits

Is anyone on G-Land selling Festival Icy Burst kits? I have several random loot gen weapons I'd like to upgrade, but I don't Mario well, nor do I particularly have fun doing it or running the same quests over and over killing fire mobs.

So if you're on G-Land and have some ICB Kits to sell, please let me know how many and how much. I'd like about 10 but if you have even one or two let me know please. Thanks!

    EDIT to clarify:
Icy Burst Kit = Recipe 3,4,5 and 300 motes.

I have not seen anyone in the harbor or ES advertising that they are selling these this year. For those of you doing the event, do you use the AH exclusively to sell unneeded/unwanted recipes and motes?

The prices are way higher than what I remember in previous years. I'm seeing 100 motes for 100,000 plat and the recipes (3/20, 4/20, 5/20) going for 70k to 150k each. That's approaching 1/2 mil for an icy burst kit.

Not criticizing anyone for charging what they want to charge, I'm just asking if those are really the going prices. If you're a seller, are you getting that much? I am a little doubtful as the ones I watch seem to go w/o selling based on the price being unchanged at the 1 min mark before they time out.

I am looking for a nice person to sell me 10 kits for 100k each. Am I being naive? I used to buy them for 60-70k each.

Well, after spending way too much on a few of these things, I am a bit disappointed. In previous years (with the exception of last year when I did not purchase/use any) applying the Festival Frost/IcyBurst would also lower the ML of the item. It no longer does this. Out of 5 weapons I crafted, with a breakdown of 3 new and 2 old random loot gen (no Cannith crafted stuff) only 1 piece of the older loot had it's ML reduced, and it was reduced by 2 vs either the 3 or 4 (can't remember) that it did in previous years.

Yes, before someone wants to scold me, I know that was never WAI, so it is what it is... But good grief, there is no way I can personally justify the AH asking prices now. Just ain't worth it to me, especially now.

I guess this is another event I will avoid from now on. If I was any good at Mario style games I still wouldn't do it, it's just not fun to me. <-- Yes, sour grapes, so sue me.

I'm not really a whiner, just a little disappointed. I'll get over it. *long sigh*

Afaik, ML reducing applicable only to pre-U29 loot and only if this loot already have Cold Touch/Frost/Burst suffixes ( -1/-2/-3 ML accordingly ). Seems almost unusable currently, sorry.

Well both pieces of older loot were pre-29, neither already had festival affixes or regular coldtouch/frost/icy. One remained at its original ML, the other had it's ML reduced by two.

The old rule was that a regular coldtouch/frost/icy simply got overwritten by the festival version, thus negating any benefit, so you never added festival recipes to those weapons.
