Default High Lords will host Defiler of the Just teaching raid on Saturday, Jan 21 at 9pm EST

Our last teaching raid Epic Vault of Night was a lot of fun and we had great attendance. Click here to read about it and watch the live stream!

Over the years I've had many people tell me that they thought they weren't a good enough player to join a raid or that they thought their gear or their build wasn't good enough. That doesn't disqualify you from our teaching raids. In fact, that means you are part of the player base that we are reaching out to. Our teaching raids are designed for players like you. Every week I will bring about a half dozen of my guildies along to help make sure things run smoothly and so the event can be a low stress learning environment where we can focus on raid mechanics and have fun. So even if your toon doesn't have the best gear or you feel like your skills aren't the greatest, you can still be part of the team and have fun learning a new part of the game for you and maybe even pull some nice raid loot too! If you've been avoiding raids for whatever reason, I hope you will consider joining us for our teaching raid events this year

The next raid in our series will be one of DDO's newer raids, Defiler of the Just this Saturday, January 21 at 9pm EST.

All events in this series are for players new(er) to the raiding scene or players that are looking to learn raids better. First timers welcome! Dbags not welcome. Please have sound and be willing and able to follow instructions.

The goal is to welcome newer players into the raiding scene, to teach people how raids work, to get players more comfortable with raids, and to enhance the Sarlona community. There is no level cap for any of our teaching raids but you need to be at least level 20 to enter epic content.

If you are new to DOJ, you will need to flag by running 3 quests in Amrath: Archons' Trial, Demon Assault and Devil's Details. You will need to have access to the Trials of the Archons adventure pack. You can run the flagging quests on heroic or epic and flag just the same, but you will need to be at least level 20 to enter the epic raid (there is not a heroic version of this raid).

Space is limited so reserve your spot ahead of time! If you would like to reserve a space in this Saturday's event, please contact me in game on Gingerspyce or preferrably Voodu, who I've been playing most lately.

This event will be live streamed on my Youtube channel.

Thanks for all the support and special thanks to DDOCast and DDO Chronicle for mentioning our events. We hope to see you in raids soon!

    Much love,
Gingerspyce and The High Lords of Malkier

Thumbs up Please sign me up

Oh! Oh! Oh! Pick me, pick me!

Thanks Voodu for doing this, the two previous teaching raids have been very enjoyable (and stress free). I have been play DDO for some years now, but have always been a pretty casual player and not particularly active (see the massive number of forum posts I have ;-). I do have a level 30, but only one, and he is just a first-lifer (Xiggs), I don't do much crafting, never crafted a green-steel item, mostly play solo or in a static group. So, I really appreciate this opportunity to experience raids. If anyone is sitting on the fence about joining, I heartily recommend you do so, you won't be disappointed (I already have my request in ;-)

I would like to join but don't have any characters on that server. If it were a lower level raid I could start an iconic level 15 character.

We'll be doing teaching raids every Saturday through the winter and spring and working through every raid in the game twice. If you're learning raids, you could do what some others have done and make a toon on Sarlona and level it up a bit and flag for raids. I understand this may not be possible for this event for you but we will be doing this for the next several months.

Or you can watch and interact on the live stream on my Youtube channel on Saturday night

    Default awesome turnout again!

Wow we had 7 signups, which included 1 person that had only done the raid once before and 6 first timers! We hit some significant lag early on, which caused us to lose 2 archons, but things went well and lag free after that. I've been having a lot of fun live streaming the events this year and really happy that this is allowing others who are learning raids from other servers to follow along and ask questions live

Here's the live stream if you missed it!

Next week's teaching raid will be Titan Awakes in Restless Isles so get flagged and I'll post details in the Sarlona forum soon.
