Cannot purchase anything from DDO Store with Steam Wallet (Error 2002)

I use the Steam version of DDO and have being paying for VIP as I go for a while now (1mo/$15). All up until a few days ago (when my last 1mo expired) I have been able to purchase the subscription just fine, but now I get this:

"2002: Sorry, this payment method is currently unavailable. Please try again later or select a different payment method."

That shows up after clicking the 1mo subscription and then continue. The page with the above message has a Pay Now button but clicking it simply return the same error. Since this is the Steam version, I don't have any other payment options (unless I'm daft and have missed it completely). This error also occurs when trying to buy points for use in the store.

I submitted a ticket a yesterday about this, but I figure it would be worth it to post about it here too, just to make sure since there hasn't been activity on it. Apparently many other Steam users have encountered this problem too. Thank you in advance.

Has anybody tried redeeming the steam point cards yet I got my money back from Steam but now I am stuck inside with the stupid ice storm pending and don't want to go anywhere until Monday or tuesday. I am hoping we can still use the steam point cards if not I will get the new CivVI game I haven't played anything on steam because I have been playing a game that gives me more bang for my buck. I have enjoyed this new game immensely anyone who wants to know what it is pm me. I don't want to diss the new owners of the DDO but they better get on the ball or they will lose a lot of players if the can't get this fixed asap.
And as per usual not a peep from anyone about what is going on. Makes you wonder how games keep going when the developers/owners leave the customers hanging.

Again, it's probably on Steam's end, because when G'waynir and I start up our games without Steam, we have the option to pay via cards, etc, no problem. We posted here in the hopes of getting the attention of someone who could maybe pull the right strings with Steam, so Steam can get it fixed ASAP. Guess all we can do is sit and wait for now, and hope for the best.

As of this time this issue is still not fixed. I heard on the live stream at noon they are working on the problem.

I sent a ticket about this a couple days ago and they did reply with a temporary workaround that I can confirm works:

"In the meantime, you can try to launch the game independently of Steam, which will allow you to add a different payment method to your account for your purchase. Please note however that if the game is not launched through the Steam client, you will be unable to access any funds that are already on your Steam Wallet. In this case, once the issue is resolved with the store, you should be able to complete your purchase as normal.

To try and launch the game independently, locate the Steam directory on your PC and login to the game using TurbineLauncher.exe file. Once you launch and log into the game, the store should display alternative payment methods for you to use or add to your account to complete your payment."

I did this and now have the option to add a payment source as normal. Though as it says you can't use funds from your steam wallet.

You are correct. On Fridays stream Cordovan confirmed it is a Steam/Valve issue. They are in the process of moving DDO and LoTRo from being published by Warner Brothers to being published by Daybreak.

When Valve removed if from WB, there was no where for the revenue to go, so they stopped the use of the Steam wallet. Once they have it connected to Daybreak, then it should come back.

How long it takes? Who knows. People were betting on whether Half-Life 3 would be out before this is done.
