Default About to TR to Monk, need advice

I want to do another monk life, and I'm debating of human(more DPS, more MP) and bladeforged(more survivablility, communion of scribing).

    Relevant Info:
    lots of relevant past lifes
    well geared and tomed
    want to melee with wraps
    shintao capstone
probably run one epic TR in dreadnaught, and one in GMOF just to see whats up with both
will level up in EE content

I prefer human, but I also prefer living.

If you are going the Whirlwind route - with the four prerequisites - I think Human (with the extra feat) is the way to go. Past Pally lives, with the heal amp, will help a lot with your healing finishers (path of light only). 3 AP in the human tree will get you more healing amp too. Try to grab a pair of Ivy Wraps; the (lesser) vampirism will help with healing.

Biggest decision you have to make as a monk is your Wisdom. One thought is to make it high as possible and use lots of monk abilities. You can stun, quiver palm and more.
Problem with very high wis monk is that you lose DPS especially against Boss mobs and you cannot go half way with wisdom, if you want DC for EE.
After deciding on your wisdom is decision on you damage stat. You can go Dex or Str.
Dex gives you bonus to saves and AC, but you cannot get it as high as you can Str and strength drain spells can get you un-centered (really annoying).
Rest is pretty straight melee build. With 41 pts in Shintao and at least 31 in Henshin (50 melee power). Rest depends on what you want.

FYI do not count of quivering palm in EE.

I would go Human over WF hands down. Shintao healing buff is too good now to waste a 50% penalty on, and the extra feat really helps with whirlwind path. I don't think its broken with the 4 attacks anymore though.

    Default Human it is

I was wanting to be human. But bladeforged is so easy with heals. Thanks for tipping the scales for me.

As you said is a matter of some dps trade for survival (both options are viable), it also depends if you solo or group more often. For soloing the Bf self heal and saves from 2+ pally splash come handy but a Pure human should do more damage and still get enough survival in groups or shortmans.

If BF and if keeping the paladin level can multiclass with fighter for more feats and tactics for stunning fist and dire charge, so you don't have to go full wis and can take more damage stat like dex or str. (I did a Bf alt 10monk/8 fighter/2 paladin (originally was going to be a 12monk/6fighter/2 pal since not using a heart for the paladin levels but the extra 4 dc from fighter lvl8 feat tactical combatant made change my mind) just to try shintao and worked good, even as a first life alt playing leveling destinies from zero moslty in EE, but mostly in groups or shortman, although for example I did some solos like EE brothers of the forge with the boss as a champ and reconstruct was very useful there. The enhancements were something like : 38 ap shintao for 4 t5, 12 Bladeforged, 11 ninja for shadow veil, 11 henshin (cores), 8 harper (kta using int item just for swap). I took whirlwind attack and all tactical feats from fighter 4 and 8 lvls, twf and ic and even got one heroic feat free and one epic feat free (took toughness and epic toughness but can take weapon focus for mp or precision or weapon special), with the paladin saves i got pretty much no fail fort save (near 90 with dragon hide twist) and also took epic reflexes feat with around 84 reflex save without twists). I played in Ld destiny once got most of the twists fate points.

But as said, human pure should do more damage and healing ki can heal good enough for the most part.

There's a slight delay after using whirlwind (maybe 0.8 seconds) until you can attack again, but it's nothing compared to a +2[W] 360 degree cleave that hits 2-4 times, gains ki for each hit, and procs on-hit effects (I have the knockdown-on-vorpals from primal avatar and I once knocked down 3 mobs at once using whirlwind). It's an expensive feat, but you do gain a bunch of dodge bonuses from the prerequisites and it's very compatible with a dex-based build.
