    Default Urban Sniper - Human 18/1/1 Ranger/Rogue/Fighter

    My wife and I usually play together and so we tend to make characters that cover each others' shortfalls. If I have a cleric, she'll make a rogue for example. In one of our pairings, she is a Ranger and I'm a Bard. Neither of us were a trapper... until today. Today, she bought a +1 Heartwood and rebuilt her Ranger based on a build called Deepwood Trapmonkey, from the Build Repository located here: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...=1#post5793839

    But her character is human, not elven, so that blew away the recommended Dragonmark feat and the elf enhancements. So I created a human, 32 point version of the build using D&D Character Planner, version 4.31.203. [By the way, as of this writing, the program crashed in 64-bit Windows 10 every time I tried to use the Skills matrix screen and then tried to Save (grrrr!). I finally just added the skills one level at a time from the main screen. That worked.]

    The other change from the Deepwood Trapper is dropping UMD in favor of Move Silently and Hide. This works because UMD is a cross class skill, so dropping it enabled two class skills to be maxed out. My girl is just too fond of sneaking and sneak attacks and cared not at all for UMD, no matter how advantageous that skill.

    First, gotta say, hate the format presented. Really hard to see anything at a glance - Feats, Skills - blech. No idea how many AP you've spent in a given Tree, or really when - double blech. Anyway...

    Considering this is both a Dex build and a Trapper, I'd be more excited about Evasion via Rog 2, and don't go for the extra Feat from Fighter 1. As a Human, this build already has +2 Feats over the DT build you link to (since you bail on the DM) - call that plus Evasion a win and leave it at that. Plus the extra Skill Points can add some Balance or something.

    Since you probably don't need the extra feat (Toughness by itself is weaksauce IMO), consider a barb splash instead for +10% runspeed. That will help her keep up with your Swashbuckler (at least I presume that's what it is).

    Also it's redundant with your bard, but you could take the DM of Passage feat to gain Dimension Door SLA.

    I don't consider SotR worth the 3-feat cost; and I don't consider Dodge+Mobility worth it unless you plan to max out the Tempest enhancements. OTOH, I would definitely encourage adding Quicken somewhere; sometimes Concentration alone ain't enough when you're trying to toss off a CSW.

    I've run my Deepwoods Trapmonkey up to able to level to 9, which is where the Fighter Level comes in - and I was curious...

    The Elf version is feat starved (hence the "need" for the Fighter Level), but for the human version, why not Rog 2 for Evasion? Is Evasion not as attractive w/ the current game tweaks? Or were you simply adding one more suggestion to the list?

    Not really: Point Blank Shot (1), Precision (3), IC:Ranged (9), Overwhelming Crit (21), Combat Archery (24), Doubleshot (28) - that covers all the must-have ranged feats, leaving 4 heroic, 2 epic, and 2 ED feats to do with what you like. If building for Paralyzing DCs, you'll probably want Spell Focus:Enchantment feat + Magister Twist for +4 DCs; that still leaves 3 heroic feats.

    If you're trying to do a melee / ranged hybrid you might appreciate the extra feat from ftr splash, but if you're focusing on just one or the other, there's not really any need for it anymore, IMO. Whereas barb splash is the easiest way to boost movement speed on this build, which is definitely noticeable.
    but for the human version, why not Rog 2 for Evasion?
    You already get Evasion from rgr lvl 9; so the only reasons to do rog 2 are you want (A) Evasion earlier than lvl 10, (B) the extra skill pts, or (C) access to tier-2 rog abilities like Venomed Blades. All of which are nice but not necessary; and odds are you don't have the APs to spare for rog PrEs anyway.

    It took me a while to find the software tool that everyone else is using (including the Trapmonkey build I modified). I finally figured out they're using Character Builder Lite. I rebuilt the Urban Sniper in v2.0.1 in that software. I slightly changed the Human enhancements selected.
