Default How do guild buffs work?

    1. Does the cog shaped thingy on the top deck give you all the buffs in the ship?
    2. Why is the timer on all of them start at 4 minutes and then stick at 3 minutes 59 seconds? Do they only go down when needed?
    3. Why are the buffs in the cargo hold different?

    1. Yes, you get all the buffs at that one spot, called the "amenities bar" or something. Exception - cargo hold buffs you have to go to the cargo hold and click each one. These are older guild buffs and only have a 1 hour timer that runs whether or not you are in a quest.

    2. The timer (in your case) is 4 hours, and it ticks to 3 hours and 59 minutes right away - no idea why. The timer on these buffs otherwise only ticks down while in a quest or wilderness area. They pause while in town.

    3. They are older, original buffs that used to be placed on throughout the ship, not just in the cargo hold. They got moved to the cargo hold when the new guild buffs came out in one of the game updates.

    1. Exception to the exception: If you have an XP shrine in the cargo hold, that will load up when you hit the "amenities bar". It is of a shorter duration, though. Ours only goes for 1.5 hours and will continue to tick even outside quests.

    2. All Cargo Hold buffs will tick outside of quests.

    3. A majority of the cargo hold buffs do not stack with the 'newer' ship buffs. The only exception I am aware of is the elemental resists as they are different than the newer ship buffs.

Actually, quite a few of them, crew especially, are still useful. More than the resists, I feel, since the Cargo Hold resists don't stack with common buffs or gear.

Plus, Cargo Hold is awesome in a way the new ships & buffs just can't match for having almost everything you need all in the same spot: Bank, Auction, Tavern, Mail, Teleporter, guild storage, even crafting altars. Instead of wandering around multiple massive levels trying to find stuff in little nooks off to the side here and there.

The guild ship pass, once again, instead of fixing/improving an existing system, just built a whole new system without properly integrating the old system. Hence the current double-system.
