    Default PDK Autopilot

I've been bouncing around a couple ideas for a PDK Warlock past life and have been playing an interesting defensive tank build worth noting.

    18 warlock / 1 Wizard / 1 fighter

    Feats:
    Dodge
    Mobility
    Spring Attack
    Combat Expertise
    Whirlwind Attack
    Maximize
    Empower
    Quicken
    Extend
    Shield Mastery
    (21 +)
    Improved Shield Mastery
    Eldritch Blast (Epic)
    Eldritch Blast (Epic Destiny)
    Intensify Spell
    Light Spellpower
    Dire Charge or Deific Warding
Epic Damage reduction & Scion of Fire

CE along with Eldritch Knight Mage Armor grants a significant Armor class boost, and Whirlwind Attack (5 Second cool down) and the cleave from Eldritch Knight (12 second cool down) add worthwhile AOE dps.

Just hashing out the details still but there's good potential.

I think there's a fair bit of potential here, I rolled up this build on Orien to play it up to 30 and see how it goes.

Starting from scratch with just the free PDK gear I've been working with lootgen items.

    Starting Stats:
    14
    14
    14
    14
    10
    14 (level ups in CHA)

Went with Fey Pact, although I think any could do well. True Neutral Alignment

Just hit 20 and farmed out Mindsunder for a shield (Took 15 or so casual runs but got some other helpful items along the way and it's a super simple farm)

Started farming Good Intentions for Heroic gear, quite a bit of useful drops there for this build. Gloves for sonic, Armor, Belt and Ring are all helpful. Got a decent number of relics leveling in heroic giant hold for slotting general purpose augments.

AC is just tipping toward 100 and I haven't even really gotten rolling yet. Whirlwind and Eldritch Strike seem to be working well for added dps while shield blocking and cycling though aura bursts. Dodge is sitting at 14 with feats and good intentions belt. I'll post an enhancement breakdown a little later after some testing.

Soloed EE Lord of Dust and a few other basic 20-21ish epics with relative ease. Working my way from Fate singer over to Sentinel.

    Default Tmi

I prefer maxing CHA to start at 18 in CHA. This toon is based on my playstyle and preferences. Many ways to make a Fey. TMI in the screenie, but I wanted to show what I use on this Fey only PDK warlock. Plus the hammer looks cool when when you run around with it:

EDIT ~ later on I ditch the healing amp from the PDK enhacement tree once I ca equip the PDK gloves at L20 and then the Iron Mitss from 3BC at L24.

EDIT 2 ~ my bad, I forgot to mention that if you go melee instead of caster like I did, then I would still max CHA and take this from the PDK enhacement tree:

"Cormyrean Knight Training: You now use Charisma or Strength, whichever is higher, for attack and damage with shortswords, longswords, bastard swords, and greatswords.
In addition, as long as your Charisma remains higher than your Strength and you are wielding one of the above weapons, you receive a bonus to the DCs of your Tactical Feats equal to 1/3 your Charisma modifier"

Also as a caster PDK Fey Warlock I do take Maximise and Quicken (get the disco ball up faster) and skip the feats of Extend and Enlarge (prefer to spend my feats elsewhere based on my playstyle of course).

Not bad for a 2 or 3 day old Character on a new server. This is a very new player friendly build.

Here's a Sample of defenses at level 21, only rank 3 in Fatesinger, Gear is lootgen with the exception of the following items that were easliy farmed:

    Shield: Light and Darkness (Mindsunder)
    Armor: Hardened Hide (Good Intentions)
    Belt: Animated Rope (Good Intentions)
    Sword: Oathblade (Eveningstar Commendations)
    Gloves: Dashing Gloves (Good Intentions)
Head: Sages Skullcap (Breaking the Ranks)
Cloak: Night Singers Mantle (Shadow of a Doubt)
Trinket: Pale Green Ioun Stone (Shadow of a Doubt)
Boots: Treads of Falling Shadow (Rest Stop)

    Armor: Hardened Hide (Good Intentions)
    Belt: Animated Rope (Good Intentions)
Spellstick: Generic Loot club and Hammer of Laden Clouds (TOR)
    Gloves: Dashing Gloves (Good Intentions)
Head: Totemic Levilar (Orchard Tapestry turn in) then lootgen
Cloak: Night Singers Mantle (Shadow of a Doubt)
Trinket: Pale Green Ioun Stone (Shadow of a Doubt)
Boots: Cannith Boots of Propolsion (Schemes of the Enemy) and later Privateer Boots (3BC rares/slayer)

How high does the Intel Stat need to be to cast Lvl 1 Wizard Spells. Thanks.

For any caster, key stat has to be [10 + Level of Spell], after all modifications.

So potions (or wands, scrolls or clickies) of Fox's Cunning (+4 Int), Owl's Wisdom (+4 Wis) or Eagle's Splendor (+4 Cha) are all popular ways to get thru early levels, until a nice +stat item drops in your lap or is found on the AH.

All these pots (and many more) are available for a base 30 pp in the central Market bazaar.

At Level 2, many casters can then cast spell versions of these, and that helps them meet higher level casting req's if they don't have a +4 item. (Note that these spells and most items don't stack, as usually they're both "enhancement" bonuses.)
