I stopped playing DDO a while ago. The monk update seemed interesting. So, I logged back on.

My monk has 194ac and 160prr. He gets demolished in melee. How the heck does he even get hit? He is level 28, geared very handsomely. He died very easily in an epic elite quest, level 20. The quest is eight levels below him on epic normal. So, trying the quest on EE seemed appropriate. He died three times on trash mobs. I'm not trying to complain that he died. I'm complaining he died against melee enemies when the character has 194ac and 160prr, playing the same character for over five years.

Obviously, the monk update did not change how this game performs. I gave the game a very good try at extending it a reasonable chance, playing the character all the way to level 28. I gave the developers a chance to overcome the games basic requirements to be defined as a game. Unable to win is like watching the movie "War Games" with Matthew Broderick: how about a nice game of chess ??

    Good bye, again.

No idea why this happened to you.

A few days ago i joined ee citw, i decided to go in and clear the start before anyone else.

I stood there fighting 2 red names, 2 orange name and some trash for like 4 mins - on my much much less prr/mrr, no ac, 20 dodge, not optimal geared rogue. (lvl 30 thou').

The lowest hp i got - i think the peak was around 50% hp between cd.

No idea how you managed to die on a lvl 20 ee quest.

If you play on Cannith I can join ya and see whats actually going on and what you're doing wrong (if u still here ofc).

Some champions simply ignore fort, so no number is really safe.

194AC should account for something. You shouldn't even be able to clip your own toenails with 194AC.

The only thing that really seems to matter for me is my level.
When I hit a tough adventure, I just level up elsewhere and come back to it, and then usually breeze through it.
It's not meaningless. It just no longer is a linear scale. From what I understand how it works, the higher one's AC is, the less hit mitigation adding a point to it provides.
