    Default Private Area Training Dummy

    Could we please get a training dummy that's in a private area, similar in complexity to the area where the free feat swap NPC is? It wouldn't have to be very large or complicated, just a very tiny quest area with a training dummy that people could beat on since most abilities do not work in public areas so those trainers on the guild airships don't work for them. Thanks.

    Perhaps training dummies could be added in Wilderness areas to Purple Dragon Knight camps and similar places.

    As long as it didn't give the associated ship buff from the legacy amenity, /signed.

    Could have a smaller area of effect. So toons can use other buffs without trying to wack them.

    I'd buy a DPS test quest for sure, and I'm sure many of the people I know in game would too.

    What would be really nice would be a configurable dummy. So we can set/see the following:

    * HP - high setting would have to be large enough to let high DPS builds conduct long tests.
    * Fortification
    * Sneak attack vulnerabiilty (default/always on/always off)
    * Armour class
    * Dodge
    * PRR
    * MRR
    * DR
    * Non physical damage resistances/immunities/vulnerabilities
    * Monster type (so bane damage could be included in tests)
    * Visible HP display
    * Reset button that restores HP and removes helplessness

    Ideally it would tell you how much damage you did, how long the test was from first to last hit, and calculate the DPS figure as well. Perhaps there could be an NPC in the quest who would remember the results of your tests for as long as you were in the instance.

    It might also be useful to have some way to reduce your character's HP in the instance too, as well as suppress healing effects, so abilities that change our damage output based on being at certain HP thresholds can be factored in too.

    Thanks.

    One of the kobolds from the dojo would be perfect for this.

    I would add to have an option for a group of training dummies for testing AoE.

    One thing that has always bugged me is the martial arts-only aspect of the training dummy. Curious what a spell will do? Too bad.

    In addition to your suggestion, how about the training dummy being an actual mob from an actual quest. For example, modify the LFM interface to allow choosing a quest then choosing a mob from that quest. Another setting or indicator that would be needed is "scaling".

    Those are really good suggestions, thanks for adding them. Being able to choose and spawn a mob might be a way to bypass some of complexity of a fully configurable dummy. Maybe we could have the option of setting it to aggressive or passive too, so we can also see how well our defences stand up to going toe to toe with it.

    Take care.
