Game keeps crashing after world selection

Im trying to get back into the game and i can't because after i attempt to login to the game after selecting a server the game crashes. HELP PLEASE

When this happens to me I usually find switching off my Security fixes it {I deleted AVG for this reason and have also had to turn off Windows Defender at times just to get DDO to load up properly without red latency and crash}.

Also sufferring from this exact issue for about the last week and a half.

Have tried:

various reboots

Logging in from a different account - fails in the same way.

Logging in from same account in same home network on different computer, works fine

Uninstalling firewall and anti-virus - no fix

Uninstall DDO and re-install - no fix

Uninstall DDO and re-install through Steam - no fix

Obviously the issue is with my PC (win10, latest updates), shout out if you find a fix Haze.

EDIT: same crashing after world selection in LOTRO

also have: updated gfx drivers

Well the New Year bought success!

My solution to game keeps crashing after world selection:

Wiped DDO (again) installed from an old 2013 download, let DDO update, DDO (and LOTRO) now work!

I have this issue, I found a work around, I uninstall Microsoft visual c++ 2005 before I start the launcher, it re installs it and I am able to log on, much quicker than doing the whole game. not sure of WHY it is happening since the last update, but I can not find much about this issue, (Its how I found this post) I do have windows defender running but not sure if that is a problem.

running windows 10 btw.

I've gone thru the whole list of what to do, according to support,
and still won't launch...
anything else that may work?
I've re-installed,
cleared all, rinsed, repeated...

am using win 7
updated all.. not sure what is wrong...

are you not able to play at all as well? I was using win 10, it corrupted so many things, had to do re-install.. now.. no game
