My Vendor keeps asking for Sunstones, White Opals, Amber and Garnetts.

I guess he is hoping to get some S.W.A.G.

Most of the gems are paid to the city of Stormreach as taxes, which are then used to power all the useless and unnecessary floating things in the city.

It's far more important to have a floating lump of rock hovering in the marketplace then it is to exterminate the cities Kobold infestation.

Default What do the Vendors do with the gems you sell them?

They collect enough to make more Crystal Gems to star on Steven Universe.

They have a deal with the coin lords. The coin lords then add them to the swimming pool.
That's not lag, it's just DDO trying to become turn-based again.

There's that one Coin Lord who owns Crystal Cove; he buys them all from the vendors.

They dupe them. They're 1337 haxxors.

Turbine needs to investigate all of the dirty, dirty vendors.

They sell them in bulk to the adventurous community of "Dark Rainbow Skippers", who make a sport of skipping gems across the surface of the stream that feeds the cavern found in "Rainbow in the Dark."

Resell them to coin lords and nobles, who then have them ground up to be used as seasoning.

They try to hoard them but keep getting robbed by monster who then get killed by adventurers who then sell them back to vendors.

I sell mine to a guy named Roy. Roy G. Biv.

First, he separates the gemstones by colors.

Then, the bowls are placed into the hot sun areas to melt.

Finally, Roy gets on a high flying guild ship and makes these in the sky

They do the same thing the Conquistadors did with all that Incan gold... put it on ships and send them back home to pay off debts and fund wars. You can buy a lot of mercenaries for the gems an average adventurer gets on a single quest and then sells for pocket change!
