My first character was a human ranger named Oenyx, and then I discovered how horrible of an idea it was for a ranger to be using two longswords when I gave him almost no strength. I deleted Oenyx and eventually made another Oenyx as a human paladin, but my first character I stuck with was my elf sorcerer. I didn't find out until he was level 13-14 that sorcerers should use mostly one elemental spell type, so I had him using both fire spells and ice spells. After many past lives he is now my main character, a half-elf air savant.

Elf female THF fighter called Skwiggle McSkwiggleson, currently level 28 on her first and possibly only life. I have not taken to TRing at all. I now have 25 characters on the same server - all sorts of races and builds, only one of which is TRed and currently languishing at level 5. Skwiggle hits hard now, but it was a struggle early on.

Made an Elven Ranger, then added a level of cleric upon my friends suggestion (to help with healing, lol) Back in Aug 2009.

She still exists but I was pulled over to a different server and played Permadeath for a couple of years with no real character advancement for the time played, however I got to participate in a number of thrilling virgin runs of new content.
I would have to say those were the most fun moments I have had in DDO.
Virgin Permadeath runs of new content. Adrenaline pumping pretty hard.
I imagine PD is having its challenges now with all of the power creep, becoming over familiar with the content too.
After a little Tolkien I am usually up for anything.

Back on Devourer, a halfling ranger. Still got that character, he's currently a sun elf pure monk.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

Dwarf Paladin. Why would people default to Human unless they're copying a build? But new players I wouldn't expect to copy a build.
    Humangate needs investigation.

It's a fantasy game. We play Human in real life (mostly). So ***?

It's not just the vast number of people stating Human but what's going on with Dwarves & Drow?

Wasn't this game once nicknamed Dwarves & Drow online because everyone was playing those two races?

Yes this poll currently shows 4 Dwarves and 0 Drow!

11 Elves, 10 Halflings, TWENTY FOUR Humans, FOUR Dwarves {Ok I'll give you that Drow would be low with having to get 400 Favour first if F2P but ZERO? Where are all the people who immediately went VIP so they could play Drizz't?}.

My first toon was a human fighter. The reason. I was new to the whole MMO experience. Wanted to play something straight forward. Fighter seemed to be a good choice and human looked a lot less complicated. **shrugs**

    I don't remember.

I did have a halfling mechanic (when they were gimp and Bunker's thread was my favorite here). I deleted her though during my big purge a few years ago when I decided to only have a main.

I think of her as my real 'first' and I think she was around level 12ish.

Human pally b/c pally is a good gaming option for soloing in most games and when I played 2nd ed only human could be pally. Also gave him high cha which was basically useless at the time, like plus to hit on smites was its major contribution.

He was deleted when I made a drow wiz/2rog which has been my main character ever since though rarely a wizard now.

Elven Arcane Archer, made with one of the pre-built paths. Didn't last long at all, but she did unlock Drow in her short life.

My first character was a human Paladin, S&B tank, back in 2006. He got deleted and rerolled as soon as I figured out that a Paladin's ability to cast spells is based on their modified wisdom, not your base wisdom (thank you devs for the misleading tip on the character creation screen!)
