    Lightbulb 14 Cleric/6 Monk

Trying to LR +5 one of my alt into 14 Cleric/6 Monk, she's 13 Cleric/2 Monk atm, what would be better for her? Unarmed build or henshin mystic staff build?

She got 2 monks pl so pretty much have monk gears cover.

    Thanks

Well, my first thought was cleric 13 / monk 6 / rog 1 staff build: T5 Henshin + cores (30 MP) + Acrobatics (+15% atk speed), Shadow Veil, trap skills, blah blah blah. Big downside is losing radiant aura, but hey, who needs that?!

What should the starting stat be for her if I go 13 cleric/ 6 monk/ 1 rogue?

    She's sun-elf.

    Thanks. =]

    Good question!

...what sounds good to you? I admit I may just be making this up as I go along.

    Let's look at a melee-focused build:
    Code:
    ML Henshin Cleric
    13/6/1 Cleric/Monk/Rogue
    Lawful Neutral Morninglord

    Level Order

    1. Rogue 6. Cleric 11. Cleric 16. Cleric
    2. Monk 7. Cleric 12. Monk 17. Cleric
    3. Monk 8. Cleric 13. Monk 18. Cleric
    4. Cleric 9. Cleric 14. Monk 19. Cleric
    5. Cleric 10. Cleric 15. Monk 20. Cleric

    4. Rejuvenation Cocoon (Tier 1 Primal)
    5. Unearthly Reactions (Tier 1 Magister) OR Primal Scream (Tier 1 Fury)
Would've liked to pickup the extra PRR from Warpriest (Wall of Steel) and/or Shintao (Iron Skin) to help offset the squishiness, but that would require giving up Ninja or Rad Servant APs.

Another possibility: 36 Henshin / 22 WP (Ameliorating Strike) / 11 Ninja (Shadow Veil) / 4 Acrobat in Crusader. Ameliorating Strike meshes well with all the doublestrike bonues: Quick Strike + Wind stance + Zeal of the Righteous + Celestial Champion. Downside is losing RS burst.

Thought about that, but the drawback is you need to spend at least 12 APs in Harper for INT to dmg and this is already a pretty AP-constrained build concept, IMO. I guess 36 Henshin / 12 Harper / 11 Ninja / 11 RS / 4 Acro with 6 APs left over to tweak things?

    Default unarmed one

If you want to go unarmed this build, I would just change from paly to ftr for the extra feats to make up for not human.
Though I need to update it again with the new monk enhancement change.

    Vic, yw
Let us know which way you go
I'm interested in a rogue cleric build too

    For U
I went with my gut on the trapper idea
If you're going to trap at LE, you better have the skills and equip
So max int was the best bet
    I wouldn't worry the ap,
All you need as a cleric is the burst
    So it's a clonk going tier5 henshin
Doing decent dps and doubles as trapper
And bursts as a cleric with a heal
    That's pretty good support role

Normally I would go DM on a pally splash
    Then u get higher dps
    And can go radiant
And use the charisma on multiple adds

Here's the feat layout for the int cleric trapper

    1 rogue thf
    2 monk pa
    3 cleric empower healing
    4 monk deflect arrows
    5 cleric
    6 cleric insightful reflexes
    7 monk
    8 monk
    9 cleric Maximize
    10 cleric
    11 monk
    12 monk ic blunt
    Lightning reflexes
    13 cleric
    14 cleric
    15 cleric extend
    16 cleric
    17 cleric
    18 cleric quicken
    19 cleric
    20 cleric

Don't know with a +5 you can change first level on an iconic...
But rouge first would be best
Then monk at 12 and burst at 13
    Hard build to level
But if you rebuild it won't matter

This was a tough layout, you lose benefit of the monk feats max
I added best I could figure in

    For epic
    21 oc
    24 intensify
    26 pthf
    27 blinding speed
    28 hellball
    29 fount of life
    30 Celestia
    Completionist

Mostly a cleric build, Henshin staff
Maybe at 30 empower instead, for the burst

This version is less of a healer and more DPS-focused. Someone proposed "Dire Charge -> Energy Burst -> Cleaves" as part of combat rotation, so I specced around that. Maybe even Hellball in the mix. Combat Expertise was just an idea for +20 PRR from Imp CE; otherwise stick with Deflect Arrows, I think.

I was actually thinking of a similar split using druid instead of cleric, so this was good practice. Thanks!

The STR variant of the build deal pretty good DPS, not highest, but it's good.

Trap skills are decent and able to get most traps.

Likewise, between burst + shadow cannot exist without light, you don't even need to spend much SP on healing.

I've spare heart of wood laying around too, so I could probably try the int variant and let you guys know how it goes.

If this is for an EPL or two, clearly you need to run once as STR+CHA-based then again as INT-based and tell us which is better!

If you want a cleric build you go 15 cleric, 1 fighter, 4 ranger elf Arcane archer shiradi fury shotter and two weapon fighter as back up. buffs, heals, 80+ strength and 30k minimal arrows with adrenaline shots. requires tomes though heh. pretty sure i gave you this build years ago and im still playing it now :P

I only have to say that I do not enjoy being outside of heavy armor unless I am doing dex, and even then, too much damage you can't evade. Maybe once you have your 27 prr from Epic past lives, but until then...eh. Light Armor is fine I guess, but even my non fighter builds are strictly elves/drow so I can easily fight heavy armor on them.

I did clonk and swapped to Axel's build instead. I was not happy in clonk (at around level 23) and took a long break from the game because of it. I guess if Monks have gotten a serious pass since then, it could work, but I was able to do farm more EE work in Axel's build than the clonk build, also, I could mostly just ignore traps after swapping. Still, missing chests grinds my gears, but there's almost never named items in locked chests anyway.

Thanks!
First time replying on this forum. Hope this works ok. I generally look for your builds for just about everything. I was trying to do a cleric life that was easy and fun to level, primarily just for past life. So I picked this build. One idea change I had for this.....please let me know if my thinking is off. Instead of doing 3 versatile adept in harper, instead take the Core Int, then place the extra point in the 4th core of Henshin for 10 melee power and 3 PRR?

4th Henshin core requires monk lvl 12 and this build has only 6 monk lvls.

EDIT: baseline AP config for the INT build is 32 Henshin (Staff Spec) / 12 Harper (INT to dmg) / 11 Ninja (Shadow Veil) / 4 Acrobat (Acrobatics for +15% atk speed). That leaves 21 APs to spread as you see fit; I put 11 into RS for bursts then split the rest between other trees.

Sorry to pop into this thread,

I've been thinking about making a cleric/monk that twfs with longswords using whirling steel strike. Anyone in this thread have advice on the best way to do this? I was thinking a similar split to the one in this thread, hence commenting here.

Not looking for anything super optimal, a little gimpiness is always fun
