I run the game in windowed mode, and frequently flip back and forth between the game and an excel spreadsheet I use to track dungeon completions. When I want to go online, like say to look something up on wiki, I use my actual firefox browser instead of the in-game browser. (I don't even know how to open the in-game browser.)

All that to say that Ramzes' excellent planner is an online tool, mine is an offline tool, and never the twain shall meet.

EDIT: Well that was fast scrolling to a new page. A heads up for anyone just checking the thread now, version 1.1 is up, details in post 35.

That's what the shard machines say. Are they also now suspect?

If so, ugh, I definitely need to do a pass on all item slots next time lammania is up.

EDIT: Just to be sure I deconned a shield and slapped an ML1 shard on it and...no, you can't put doublestrike on it, despite what the "definitive" shard machine says. Gah!

I took a shield, slapped on an ML10 shard and a mark of cannith, and put it in the shard machine to see what actually goes on it. Results:

    - Armor Piercing is NOT a shield prefix (ouch!)
    - Doublestrike is not a shield suffix
    - Incite is not a shield suffix

I'll update the data files and post a revised 1.1 shortly.

Yes. You can't believe to tooltip from shard machine.

    Check this table: http://ddowiki.com/page/Cannith_Crafting/table_1b

    Method of get this info:
Select item type -> Make it craftable -> Apply ML 14 -> Apply Extra shard -> Collect info (without typing prefix/suffix/extra. Some shard don't contain this info: Spell Focus Mastery (helm suffix), Balance (trinket suffix)...)

Be sure to remove Armor Piercing from Shield Prefix on your planner.

Okay, I updated the data files for the shards in question, plus I added in some updated farming info based on recent posts to the farming thread. I originally planned to do that but forgot. Since I'm updating the data files anyway, this was a nice opportunity to toss that in there.

Here's how the release notes look now:

    Release Notes

    Version 1.1:
    • NEW: Gearsets!
    • Filled out scaling data for Vampirism
    • Added Skill Tome conversion chart for Purified Eberron Dragonshards
    • Fixed slotting info for:
      • Armor Piercing is not a Shield Prefix
      • Doublestrike is not a Trinket Suffix (nor is it a Shield Suffix)
      • Doubleshot is not a Trinket Suffix
      • Incite is not a Trinket Suffix (nor is it a Shield Suffix)
    • Updated Farming info for:
      • Schemes of the Enemy
      • Wheloon Prison (heroic is T4, not T3)
      • Terminal Delirium

Earlier today I posted 1.1, but due to data errors I updated and reposted it. The post from earlier today announcing 1.1 is here.

Note: I did not update the data files in the source code download.

This is getting crazy good, EllisDee. It's making me realize just how poorly geared my toon is. But on the plus side it creates a plan to fix that. Thank you again for this.

Can version 1.2 go ahead and run the farming quests for me?

Hey, awesome product as always. Ty once again.

Just a UI tweak suggestion though, at the bottom of the main window where the link is labeled "New Gearset", I would suggest changing it to read "Gearsets" or something else that's more general. That link seems to be the only way to open a user's OLD (saved) gearsets; so I think changing the text to read something like "Gearsets" would reduce some user confusion.

Hi, I might be looking at an outdated copy of your spreadsheet, but wanted to point out insightful deadly won't go on a trinket, but insightful accuracy will.

I noticed that for true seeing augment suffix one of the ingredients listed is 5 stone fetish but should be 5 warehouse ledgers. Loving the app by the way.

Good catch. (Stone Fetishes are the unbound ingredient, Warehouse Ledger for bound.)

You can make this change on your end right now if you like by opening Data\Cannith\Shards.txt and search for True Seeing. Be sure to use the singular form when specifying ingredients in Shards.txt.

I somehow missed the replies from 11/23:

I agree it's a little weird sounding, especially when opening a saved gearset (which I personally do all the time,) but the reason it's named that way is because you can open multiple gearsets at once. Just naming it "Gearsets" would imply that it opens the gearset screen, but there isn't just one. There can be as many as you want.

The entire time I developed the gearsets interface I was fighting my natural instincts to set up an installation wizard style interface like with the character builder, but that approach is limited to a single instance. I very much wanted the ability to open multiple gearsets at once so that they could be compared side by side.

In the end, the gearsets interface turned out to be kind of weird, but function won out over form.

There is no updated version of the spreadsheet; the application linked in the OP of this thread replaces the original spreadsheet.

    Ellis, you Savage! )))

Now, if there was a way to put all this on a website like that CC planner (beta), it would knock everyone's socks off

    Hey Ellis,

This is a great tool! I have a couple of questions about future additions, though...

    1) Any plans on including augment slots?

    2) Any plans on an option for "extra" gear, for swaps? (multiple weapons, a set of boots for jumping or swimming, etc.)

Very much so. I can't wait to finish the augments section, particularly the part where it tells you everywhere to acquire it: Collectors for astrals, mysterious remnants, TP in the store, unslot from named item, etc...

However, I've been busy playing the game for the last month, and having a blast. (Particularly Ascension Chamber, which is hella fun.) Also, I still can't quite picture how the augments screen will actually look, though it's starting to come into focus a bit more. I can't really start working on augments until I come up with some way to design that screen.

The other thing holding me back is that there's a lot I want to do the next time I start coding DDO stuff:

    - Add augments to Crafting Builder
    - Add gearsets to the Character Builder (display only; when click to edit, opens Crafting Builder for that gearset)
    - Add mouse wheel support to Character Builder
    - Change from *.bld binary files to *.build human-readable text files (like *.gearset files are now.)

All of those are ambitious; taken together, it's enough that I keep thinking "I'll just play the game tonight instead of starting all that." It will happen, though.

    2) Any plans on an option for "extra" gear, for swaps? (multiple weapons, a set of boots for jumping or swimming, etc.)
I had thought about that, but ultimately I decided against it. I suppose I could revisit that next time I open the hood.

Hey, I just noticed your numbers for Vitality are off - your planner lists 10 at L10, and 13 at L13, whereas the actual numbers are 19 and 23 respectively. I don't know for sure about the rest of the range for certain, but the numbers from http://ccplanner.byethost14.com/ for L10 & L13 agree with what I got in-game.

Nice catch, I'll get that corrected.

I noticed another issue in the data files the other day that you can correct yourself until the next update:

Lore Tier 3 lists Church & the Cult difficulties of Hard and Elite, but in reality it's just Elite. (Hard will get you Tier 2.) If you want to correct this yourself, open Data\Cannith\Schools.txt and change the following line:

Lore 3: The Church and the Cult: Hard, Elite

    Change it to:

Lore 3: The Church and the Cult: Elite

The difficulty text after the colon (:) isn't connected to anything; it's just straight text that gets displayed in the farming notes. Only the quest name is a "data" value. (Which are defined in Data\Cannith\Farms.txt.)
