Steve Howe was voted "Best Overall Guitarist" in Guitar Player magazine five years in a row (1977–1981) and in 1981 was the first rock guitar player inducted into the Guitar Player Hall of Fame.

The bee room makes me wonder if they've been reading OOTS, with the pre-dragon trap that sprays BBQ sauce I like the idea of having more varied status effects from the environments that might require (or at least encourage) adapting the tactical approach.

Still haven't yet been effected by the magnet room as I haven't had any character wearing metal armour run that quest. The tech to check & tailor effects to characters wearing specific individual items (see also the dragon mask, and the dragon who will react to red dragonscale armour), is cool so it'll be interesting to see what other fun flavour moments can come in the future.

I think the collectable costs for effects should be brought down for the 1st & 2nd tier effects, it'd encourage people to take part in the system a lot more.

On the ranged fury thing - I love having it, and will miss it if it's gone, but will adapt. I agree with the idea of a more outright ranged sniper as an alternative to the the fey magics approach of shiradi. Interesting observation about acute instincts and the wisdom boost, it also makes for a good twist for artificers & rogues, chug a rage pot & get better at trapping

My guess on how they handled the thing with the tomes is they added the "starter equipment" flag to those free tomes, and make it add a little disqualifier from the crunching for the shards. Seems like it'd be the most elegant solution & considering how fast they closed the loophole in the first place, any which were generated before it was implemented probably don't add up to much overall.

Shining through being reduced is a shame, but makes sense considering how ridiculous it could become - oh, and no need to nerf hurl through hell as there are other spells that can instakill an orange-named, they're the same ones as work on regular mobs, so long as you can get your DC high enough or, in the case of the no-save power word kill, punch through any spell resistance, and there are also instakill spells & abilities (eg. trap the soul, though it has the HD issue) which can work on non-living enemies. I feel HtH's real advantage is that it's a will save, so will work against the tougher brute-type enemies that would more easily save against the fort-based instakill spells like finger of death & destruction.

Need to look at the monk changes properly, but they sound good to me & I've always loved playing the class pre-PRR & MRR, so looking forward to playing them again.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

iirc in epics orange names are immune to death effects, other than hurl. Yes in heroics there are alternatives. This was what i was specifically referring to.

Funny you should say that, there's a thread addressing just that issue... 1st post:

of which i am aware and again, not what i am referring to.

From the DDO wiki: on epic hard & elite orange named monsters have deathblock

    http://ddowiki.com/page/Difficulty#Epic_Difficulty

I'm not referring to general mobs, only oranged name ones. death effects do not generally work on them, but Hurl does. Exhibit A: the crystal in part 2 of legendary shroud...
