Default New eRing of Stalker vs Avithoul

Looks like the new upgraded tier 3 epic Ring of the Stalker trumps the Seal of House Avithoul in all areas except one, really (improved deception):

eRing of Stalker Tier 3 (ML 20)
    Insightful Deception +3/+5
Deception 8: +13 damage (wiki says 8 but that is to hit) so +18 sneak attack damage
Seeker 11 (listed as 9 before upgrade, wiki says it goes to 11 at upper tiers)
    ghostly (10% incorp)
    colorless, green augment slots (=flexibility)
manslayer (nearly worthless in epics, but hey, moah damage)
Sneak damage listed as 'deception' so I assume this does the chance to bluff enemies (5%) per hit?

    Seal of Avithoul (ML 21)
One of the following ability bonuses:
    Dexterity +7
    Insightful Dexterity +2
    Wisdom +7
    Insightful Wisdom +2
    Sneak Attack Bonus +5
Insightful Sneak Attack Bonus +3 13 total sneak attack damage
    Improved Deception

The insightful ability bonuses are no longer so difficult to find via lootgen and cannith crafting. Only the improved deception is makes the seal of house avithoul competitive. Thoughts?

You need both, only the avithoul ring has improved deception, which makes you sneak attack most of the time. The stalker ring raises your SA damage but doesn't generate sneak attacks. Keep Avithoul on until you can deploy your ring of deceit at 25th.

The new coding for the Stalker ring lists it as 'deception' like lootgen so I am wondering if it now bluffs?

I always went with the Seal. I am leaning towards the Stalker. it is nice also to have a solid level 20 gearset for destiny grinding. Maybe pairing the stalker with Golden Guile hence freeing up the second valuable ring slot.

Personally I only use the eStalker. The other ring slot is more valuable for Stat or MRR/PRR (Thinking crafted now that CC pass is here). Use gloves or neck for deception. Then again, I need to do a new gear layout so my thoughts on the matter may change.

yeah, that was what I was thinking--use Golden Guile on the neck slot, eStalker and then you have the other ring slot free. You don't even need the epic version although that would be a nice little upgrade.

It is a nice TR grind setup since you can wear them at level 20.

Last two seals (avithoul and dun'robar) I pulled had mythic boosts on them. Only +1 but I was just running EH. Didn't know they had that option.

interesting that this occurred on EH--I figured that might happen on reaper but not regular settings

Yeah, we pulled 2 dun'robar rings yesterday on EH in a 3 person group. Mine had the +1 on it the other did not. I pulled the avithoul ring with a +1 a couple of days ago.

I personally use both together, it is crazy amounts of DPS. If you wanted to switch then Epic Golden Guile would be my choice I think, though the Heroic one would work in a pinch I guess.

yeah, this is my thought too. Even with those nice mythic bonuses, I feel that the Seal is now outdated.
Losing two gear slots is tough but for TR twinkies, it is nice to have everything setup at level 20. The necklace slot seems to be one of the weaker CC ones for melees anyway.

Yeah true enough, the main reason I use them is because I don't have a lot of epic level gear plus since I'm on the TR train I can't be bothered farming for gear which is going to cause me issues with TR cache and bank space etc when it comes to TR time. Still though for a level 21 item the Seal is very very good imho.
