    Default This character is already in the world

    So this happened during the weekend when I tried to ETR..
    1) Trigger ETR
    2) Logout and click ETR in character menu
    3) Stuck on screen for ~10-20 minutes, kill process
    4) Cannot log in anymore, receiving title message.

    I have submitted an in-game ticket, to which the response was to open a support ticket (fair enough), however the support site is already borked:

    Yes, the link is broken. And the mentioned ticket type is completely unavailable when I try to manually create a "technical support" ticket.

    Anyway, I have created a ticket. Haven't received any response yet, maybe it's not in the correct topic due to the broken link, so writing here as well. Ticket number is: #24001-779512

    Can you please do something to fix the character. I'll happily provide any information that may or may not be relevant (eds, past lives, gear, whatever), just make it work.

    Hey Vivanto,

    I've run across a few posts about this over the years. The general consensus addressing the problem is to log into the same or another server with a different character. Create a character on another server if you don't have one and give it a try. That's about all I can suggest.

    Thanks for the reply!

    The issue was resolved within 3 business days by the Turbine tech support team and in-game support, who restored my character into working order. I just thought that since no replies were present on this thread at that time, I'll just let it die instead of keeping it alive with a status update.

    Anyway, the lesson (for me at least) is to avoid ETR-ing during the weekend. It's best to do it on Monday, or maybe Sunday at the end of the playsession.
