Default Nearly (but not quite absolutely) USELESS combat log...

This thing that yall pass off as a "COMBAT LOG" is more frustrating than character death.

Here are some OBVIOUS changes that would make the combat log usefull.

    1) Separate Window for MOB melee attacks and CHARACTER saves vs MOB melee special effects
    2) Separate Window for MOB spell attacks and CHARACTER saves vs MOB spells
    3) Separate Window for CHARACTER melee attacks.
    4) Separate Window for CHARACTER spell attacks.

As the "combat log" stands right now, if I die in a quest the chance of me seeing EXACTLY [what] killed my character as listed in the combat lag is almost zero.

It NEEDS FIXED. Why has this *censored* been left to fester for so long without any attention?

For instance....I get some effect that disables or knocks my toon unconscious...then the combat log uses about 90% of the available window to show me all the buffs I lose. The result is usually a list of buffs disappearing then XXX killed you.

WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR CHARACTER LINE BY LINE AND PARSED OUT SO WE CAN DETERMINE EXACTLY IS GOING ON IN GAME.

The combat log, just like the game's code is cluttered.
    It could use some untangling

Would love to be able to isolate more specific things into the combat log.. more customizability for windows...

Color changes for cirt/max crit/stars aligned crits..
capture log somewhere where we can set a start/stop and see average DPS, max damage, min damage statistics.. ~type of damage.. base, crit, sneak, crit, bonus,...

toggle options to Remove/add more specific items from combat window.. we may still want them but would like the option to toggle them on/off and/or put them in .. another window...
    ~buffs
    ~debuffs
    ~Saves
    ~incoming damage
    ~outgoing damage
    ~and more...

    On main screen info..
~move/sort top row short term buffs to 2nd row. any buff less than a minute , and any debuffs..
~a way to minimize/expand ship buffs from all the individual buffs to a singular countdown buff..
~ Target examination window.. a way to keep it up when switching mobs.. mine keeps closing when I switch targets unless I lock it.. then its locked on the specific mob...

It takes a half effing hour of scrolling up just to get past the "this buff has been removed from you" dialog after you die.

The issues I have with the combat log...
    • It only holds so much - this means even if you want to copy/paste the log to a file to examine you still potentially miss stuff
    • There is no option to download it locally

I am one that like to examine how I did performance wise. And being able to review the log files of a game session would give me more than the theoretical numbers of my DPS but give me a more accurate idea that takes into consideration my play style vs group vs environment. It would also on my spell casters give me a more accurate account of how many of my fails was DC vs Spell Pen vs Concentration and help me make adjustments accordingly. Or give me a more accurate account of Tactical melee (Stun, Trip, Sunder) attempts vs success/failure as well as vs what.

It can also help determine how much damage was actually lost vs DR/PRR and examine if there is a better way to mitigate that.

Also, What killed me melee/spell/trap/saving throw/lack of proper protection from etc.

It should be something a person can turn off/on per Chat Window to help prevent filling up a harddrive etc. but I think it would be a better way to judge performance then the forum math used today or the use of timer vs Red named Kobold in DOJO.
