Default Lets track down this bug (Crafting Machine Brain Freezes)

So it has come to my attention that the cannith crafting machines can bug out and have brain freezes.

My personal experience is that this is caused by multiple bags ---

What is your experience with this issue?

Try to track it down and kindly remember to bug report it!

Now is the time to bug report these issues in order to get them fixed. Why now? Because the impending U32 Cannith Crafting Update Pass (CCUP) is due around the 13th of September (subject to the whims of mad Kobolds, party crazy gerbils, and insane Deities) and that means the Dev's are focused on polishing the CCUP (and wearing their best French Maid costumes for the polishing. )

Let's Drive +Cocomajobo insane by submitting many, Many, MANY bug reports on this. (here's looking at you kid!)

I would love to help on this; however I have never seen any rhyme or reason to this.

Yesterday I deconstructed over 100 items with like one or maybe two freeze ups. Today I deconstructed 15 items with 10 freeze ups. Same character same computer, same buffs,

If you pay enough attention there is a graphical glitch tell. The little box that shows what essence you are getting will flash all black before displaying the proper essence. It doesn't happen every time but often.

I normally don't see this either - but had a friend over and was happening every click or two. Sometimes would show lots of recipes that just didn't jive (in the deconstruction of shards).

I believe it has to do with recipe filtering occurring at incorrect times. If the machine tries to update the recipe filter while the item is in mid-destruction, bad/weird things happen.

They might be able to fix it with some simple sanity checks, to make sure they aren't trying to process on an item that is destroyed or half-destroyed or whatever happens to items while they are being crunched.

I have also tried figuring out rhyme/reason for this, as well as the current random not-giving-plat bug.

I have found that deconning shards seldom causes the interface to go brain dead like it does on items. Beyond that? *shrug*

Seems related to memory leak type things. Opening no other interface than the decon machine after login has given me much better results. Granted low sample testing today a little over 100 items or so. On a character with no bags in inventory, no tr cache, no gear.

After interacting with the bank or swapping from other characters lock up after 2-5 decons. No runs of less than 20+ on a log in with no other interactions.

When deconning stacks of shards it can go brain dead not returning rewards but still consuming shards.

Just cleaned some mules, everything is either obsolete or grandfathered.

All old type random loot deconned with no issues, 100+ items. So it looks like an issue with how it searches in new type loot. Hopefully once it goes to one essence the coding is streamlined a lot.

Nope, I've had it happen with one or no bags. I've deconned 80+ items without a problem, and the next day I have to re-open it after every item.

Also, they've said they're removing the visual animation which should help with this... or was it with lag... or was it with both?

I just was on Lammania - and had to disjunct many runearms, after each one the machine froze. *shrug*

I have deconstructed almost 1,000 items in the last two weeks and cannot figure out the pattern. It seems to happen much more often at public stations than on my airship.

On live, I can reliably bug out the deconstruction interface in the house C crafting hall by following these two steps:

    1. Hit deconstruct on an item (I don't know if this happens with shards too, I'm talking about deconstructing random loot)
    2. immediately move my mouse to hover over the next item I'm going to deconstruct, ready to drag it in, without waiting for the deconstruct to finish.

    Effect:
The combination of the system destroying giving me essences, putting a message on screen and trying to load a tooltip (i.e. when hovering the mouse over the next item) all at the same time causes it to bug out and when I drag that next item into the decon box, nothing then happens, and I have to close the decon window and open a new one. If I let this happen a few times in one session (I haven't tested enough to be sure there's a reliable count for this), I end up in a position where I have to open a new decon window each time.

In case its latency/packet timing related - I'm over in the UK, my latency is usually between 100 and 120 ms if memory serves.

Don't know if that helps or if the bug we're talking about here is something to do with a new freezing bug in the new CC on Lam.
