Dexterity is on Ring 1, and Intelligence can go on the trinket instead of Concentration. Though no insightful for either, so yeah, not quite ideal for a dex or int build. Still pretty good, though. Good thought about doubleshot for ranged. Also ranged alacrity on gloves.

I've now crafted almost* all the "Old:" items and stored them on my mule, plus located / acquired almost all the augment slot base items I'll need for the "New:" stuff. Unfortunately, yellow augment base items are getting tough to find; there's still one or two I'm missing. (Something like the second boots and fourth ring, I think.)

*BTA helmets are brutal to farm. Red Fens doesn't appear to drop them, so now I'm eyeing up the various chains trying to figure out which will be quickest. I'm thinking Seal of STK. Ugh.

EDIT: First try blasting through STK on an epic alt I had completion times of 6.5, 5.5 and 4.5 minutes for a total of 16.5 minutes to do the entire chain. I could probably get that down to 13 minutes or so. Unfortunately, this was apparently my third completion so I got all named items, no lootgen, in the chain reward. Doh!

EDIT 2: Second run took 5.5, 4.5 and 2.5 (!) minutes, so already under the 13 minute estimate. Plus I got me a fancy BTA lootgen hat, woohoo! Invisi-sprinting for 12 solid minutes is about as unfun as farming gets, but oh well. Strictly speaking I only need 1 more hat, though 2 more would be preferred.

I think I have all the "old" stuff now, I didn't bother with the helms with Spot since I know where most of the traps are so I'm not too worried about that really. As for the slotted items I have been collecting them for a while now from epics since they seem to drop a bit more often, so hopefully will have plenty to go at and if not then I'll have a mooch around on the AH and see if there is anything going for cheap. Tbh I'm not even sure how much I'll use the gearset since I have most of my heroic lives done on my main but it will come in handy at some point I'm sure for alts or something (assuming I ever play one lmao).

On a totally unrelated note I finally got round to making a cosmetic for the Heroic Challenge Famrer, I used the Outfit of the Celestial Avenger since I think it's pretty cool looking

Yeah, spot hats aren't particularly critical. I just like having it. It's also nice for spotting hidden mobs, but again, not critical.

And I believe I finished all the "old" items, woohoo!

Good progress after the first day of U32. Of the 48 items listed in post 55, I now have finished the prefix/suffix versions of:

All 20 "old" cannith crafting items (eg: ML9 stat +6 gear)
    19 U32 cannith crafting items

Of those 19 new items, I applied the extra third effect to one armor (parrying) and one hat (iFort) because those use cheap collectables. Only one each because I only crafted one each.

Al I have left to make now is:

    - Epic hat (not enough fragrant drowshood)
    - The two alternate spot hats (just laziness; I have all materials ready to go)
    - Epic gloves (not enough fragrant drowshood)
    - Heroic full plate (can't find appearance I like)
    - Epic chainmail and full plate (can't find blue augment versions, much less with appearances I like)

Also I need to farm the trinket from the new pack, and acquire all those yellow augments. Fortunately, augments are currently on sale in the store. Right now the 8 augments I still need (already had a few) would cost either 372 TP or 80 astral shards. Technically the TP is cheaper, but astral shards can be replenished without spending money. Either way, I have enough for either approach on-hand.

I still have around 6-7 thousand essences left. I'd like to get my main crafter from 251 to 275 so he can make insightful stats @ 100%. Plus I'd like to level up a crafter on my dual-box account to 100. Not sure if 6000 essences is enough for all that, but I'm sure deconning the gear from epic dailies would generate enough to finish them off before too long.

EDIT: 20 old items + 19 new items "done" + 7 new items to make + bracers of wind + trinket of the slave lords = 48 BTA items

    Default The Poor mans recipe

First of all this is a great thread.

Secondly i just wanna post my 2 cents.

My builds are mostly melee staff or repeater build with trapper skills and since i don't have access to purified dragon fragments i wanted to try and see if i could make something good anyway.

Here is the list of all the things i wanted:
Armor piercing. Deadly. Doublestrike. Seeker. Dodge. Sheltering. Melee/ranged alacrity. Insightfull deadly. Natural armor. Protection. Parrying. Con, dex, int. fortification. Spot, disable device, search, open lock, deathward, blindness immunity.

I was not able to get open lock and dodge only applies till level 16 where you get blur. The setup changes at level 16 where you can use Bracers of twisting shade.

Head : Sheltering helm of spot switch to Intelligence of spot at level 16
Eyes : Seeker goggles of Deadly
Neck : constitution of search switch to constitution of Sheltering at level 16.
Back/cloak : mantle of the worldshaper
Wrist: Protection of dodge to level 16. Bracers of twisting shade fra level 16. giver search og blurry.
Hand: Alacrity gloves of Armor Piercing
    Waist: Doublestrike belt of Deathblock
Feet : Striding boots of Strength
Ring : Health ring of False Life
Ring : Blindness immunity of dex
Trinket: (Dodge)/Disable device Trinket of Natural armor/(Dodge). w/Insightful Deadly
Armor : Fortification armor of Healing Amp w/Parrying. White dragonscale armor can be used instead.

    Hope this can help someone.

    Nice! I like it.

Day 2 progress was pretty solid:

Finished all items (not counting extra effects) including augments (love that sale!) but still haven't found epic armors I like yet. I even finished the alternate hats, plus augments.

Ran my quickie dailies on my level 24 fighter, who is not yet wearing the epic gearset because he has no armor. My quickie dailies (tobias >= VON3 => Spies) netted around:
    300k xp
6k plat (boo on no longer getting plat from decon)
    541 essences
75 crafting xp (ha! decon xp is weaksauce)
    2 slime molds
    2 zygomycota fungus
    1 warehouse ledger
    1 fractured femur
    3 mortar and pestle

Not bad for a little over half an hour, though I'll need to sit down and figure out where to farm epic collectables like I did with fragrant drowshood.

I'm planning on making a set of gear for level 4, 8, 12, 16. Eventually get around to 20 and 24.

This is because it corresponds to augment slots upgrades.

Got a quick question: The healing amp on cannith crafted items, is it the same as the one on PDK gloves and the 3BC level 24 upgrade to same? If so I suspect that the PDK gloves may drop out of my standard gearset since the delta it gives isn't that large at ML18 or 20.

Excellent question. Popped into game just now to test, crafted does not stack with PDK gloves, and PDK says competence bonus, so crafted gives competence bonus to healing amp. Both PDK gloves and crafted stack with the old-timey convalescent of parrying bracers that used to drop that now give equipment bonus.

Ok, so the opportunity cost for the PDK gloves now is 60 Heal amp vs 38, the Mitts 60 vs 45. Yeah I suspect I'll be evolving away from them once my gearsets are built.

I've already equipped my Kensei Warpriest, currently level 26, with the ML20-21 gearset detailed in this thread, and even without the insightful effects I'm loving the upgrades. He definitely has less healing amp (38 from crafted, compared to 100 from pdk gloves +60 and convalescent bracers +40), but this is mitigated by his increased devotion. At least for self-healing.

Default Insightful deadly not possible on trinket

Is it me that just can't get it to work or is it not possible to add insightful deadly on the ekstra trinket?

Nope, I was also surprised/bummed to discover it.

So for now I've settled on putting the one left out between iDevotion and iAccuracy on the trinket. (Both only go on gloves and trinket, and the original plan chose one or the other to leave room for iDeadly on the trinket.)

    Hey EllisDee37.

It's been nearly 6 months. Just curious as to how this gearset is working out in practice ? Are you still using it across a bunch of alts, do you still find you're sticking mostly with it or are you subbing in lots of alternate items, have you swapped out any for Slave Lords set pieces, etc etc.

    Cheers.

    Good questions.

First, the "official" version is posted in this thread on the main forums (as opposed to the lamannia forums) which corrects for issues like Insightful Deadly not going on a trinket.

I'm still using the exact gearset as detailed in the OP of the linked thread for leveling, both heroics and epics. It is shared by my three "main" melees: Evasion Paladin, Kensei Warpriest, and Tempest Trapmonkey. It's also used by my wizard as he does heroic past lives on the way to completionist.

I even used it almost unchanged on my wizard's current life, which is a pure ranged ranger. I briefly considered making specialized gloves for doubleshot and insightful corrosion, since the existing melee alacrity gloves don't do much for it, but decided to just leave it. The one item I crafted specifically for my acid arrow build is a specialty trinket: Corrosion of True Seeing w/Insightful Corrosion.

The gearset still works great and I'm still quite happy with it. I recognize others might want more "steps" (ie: 8, 12, 16, 20, 24) and to include a mysterious cloak and more cannith challenge gear, but I just stick with the two steps at level 11-14 and again at 20-21 and it seems to work fine.

I even still wear my Cloak of Invisibility all the way to 30 because I had already crafted the epic gearset outlined here in this thread before I realized that the stalker ring variant is clearly better.

EDIT: Actually, reviewing the linked thread, I can switch to the stalker variant of the epic gearset by only remaking two items: Boots and Cloak. Plus, of course, farming up and slotting a new stalker ring. I'm not really feeling it as of now, though. Maybe I'll do that someday.

EDIT 2: My complete experience with it so far has been:

    1. Leveling my tempest trapmonkey from 17 to 30
    2. Leveling my kensei warpriest from 24 to 30
    3. Doing an ETR on my evasion paladin, from 20 back to 30
    4. Leveling my wizard's Vanguard Paladin life from 15 to 22-ish then TRing
    5. Leveling my wizard's ranged Ranger life from 1 to currently 27

The plan is to ETR then TR the wizard into a melee favored soul sometime next week, which will again use the melee gearsets.

Fantastic detailed response, cheers. Great work on the gearset btw.

Oh, and I'd missed that this thread was Lama and the other was in the Crafting section, thanks for the heads-up
