Default AH now total waste of time!

    Sarlona's AH
    Lvl 8-11
    Medium Armour
    No specific search
    1 PAGE! {and not even a full page either!}
EVERY LAST ARMOUR ON THERE CASTER BASED!

It's the same for ALL items!
    Everything's Caster Based!
I'm using a Magnetism Greatsword on that Character because I can't find a decent Melee Weapon!

RNG is so ridiculously messed up right now that it's becoming impossible to gear any characters decently while levelling!
This isn't a problem for Warlocks of course but for everybody else it certainly is a problem! And ESPECIALLY for MELEE CHARACTERS!

Random loot is now worthless. You use to be able to find decent weapons at all levels including paralyzing weapons smiters and the like or good repeaters now nothing and I refuse to craft this could be the thing to finally make me quit

I have con 17 of resistance 13 bracers that say otherwise.
    Some other stuff too.

    As for weapons...

...you should be using named stuff 90% of the time. I can't even remember of a useful random gen in 5 years.

Smiters haven't been good since heroic shroud dude.

You can vorpal at lvl 2 now, and there are lvl 6 items of godmode floating around.

    Explore a little bit!

I'm of the COMPLETE OPPOSITE opinion of you and the OP.

I really feel like you guys are off the mark. I check the AH daily, and enjoy the randomgen changes a ton.

I can really see where you're coming from, but you're wrong. Random loot is not worthless, and AH is not worthless.

The perspective you guys have feels a little bizarre I think.

I do think the RNG putting caster effects on gear, weapons, and armor is too exaggerated.

That being said, I have learned to AH almost everything that isn't a "caster" item. Typically now, I post on the AH pretty cheap because I know it is good for other players to find functional, useful items. I did pull, for example, some +10 STR gloves of Healing Amp (+44?) recently and was very happy.

Overall, I think the problem is that the AH has been borked for so long, I think people have given up posting on it. And I have little luck on the AS AH, either posting or finding reasonable prices.

Combat mastery, fortification... Double strike, Double shot etc. I will say one thing though, even with the elemental damages increased the once bane weapons have become situational to be a little more specific.

Other than that, yes there seems to be an inclination towards casters in armor and the armors to prove it. But there are melee armors that benefit everything from rogue to paladin. Eberron is a place of magic. By Legendary ,unless you choose not to as a pure barbarian and yes it's a choice, no matter your class you will be dabbling in spells, wands, scrolls... Or be gifted as a scion having been granted powers from other planes.

That's the reality of a steampunk campaign where steam is replaced with magic. Being an outlander barbarian from the wastelands that rejects the modern conveniences magic provides us, I see where you might have a problem adjusting. There are only 4 classes that initially have no use whatsoever initially for casting, and only one that has no synergy with casting at all. But most, I say a good 99 percent of everyone including barbarians have at least some ability to utilize magic in some form.

In my opinion, the biggest issues with the AH are the current restriction to the mailbox system (Made worse by the favor notifications through mail; typically to put something up on the AH I have to clear out some of those notifications, which gets annoying) and the limited duration's items can be up on the AH compounded by the relatively low return on most random loot items. For example, if I pull a named item from Haunted Halls or have an excess amount of crafting mats I don't expect to use, selling those for well over a million platinum is worth spending 2 minutes trying to post the item, realizing my mailbox is full, deleting mail from my mailbox, and then going back and reposting.
Doing this same process to list a random-gen item for 3-4x vendor value (Typically not even much more than 10k plat) instead of just selling it to a vendor is time-consuming, especially when posting 40 items in a row. This issue is compounded by the fact that if no one ends up being interested in the items, they get sent back to your mailbox; thanks to the mailbox restriction, those items then need to be removed before you can place more items on the AH; so you have to remove those items and place them back on the AH, repeating the process from above. Alternatively, and what ends up happening after a while anyway, is that this cycle is broken by selling items that no one purchases on the AH to a vendor. If you're going to end up doing that anyway, there isn't much reason to put the items on the AH and waste so much time in the first place.
Personally, I think in order to make the AH workable again placing items on them should be a more place and forget method. The 3 day timer, paired with the new mailbox cap (Which I do get is necessary, I wouldn't recommend altering that) makes the AH a pain, so allowing players to choose to permanently place an item would reduce how annoying this process is. In addition, I'd recommend that every 3 days the original listed price should be reduced by 20%, and items placed in this method should not be removable from the AH. This would allow items to be easily placed on the AH where they can be accessed by other players, prevent using AH as storage where items could be placed permanently at high prices then removed if wanted later. This would also prevent overpriced items from remaining on the AH indefinitely; at a 20% decay every 3 days off of the modified price of the item, the price of the item will be at about 10% of it's original amount, which will quickly take overly expensive items down to a reasonable level.

Have you tried using named items?
Especially for melee weapons, lootgen has always been terrible turning it's wielder into a liability to the party.
caster stats far outshine melee stats on lootgen.

Decent Melee weapons that bind to account (for easy storage):
    Guardian's Dagger
    Carnifex
    ToEE weapons
    Corroded Rapier
    Antique Greataxe
All tier 2 canith challenge gear
    Hellstroke great axe
    Sora Katra before upgrading
Sharn chain end reward gear (at the bottom of the page)
Terror (to bad turbine nerfed this)
    Insanity
    Riftmaker
    Bleeding edge
    Ratkiller&Cutthroat's Smallblade
    Elemental Bloom
    Sheridans ruinhttp://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Sheridan%27s_Ruin
    Turbulent Epee

    Want me to go on?

    Edit:
as for armor, assuming you don't want to craft:
Infested armor the spell resistance is nice at this level
Gorgon plate/docent +4 con and a stone skin guard.
parasitic breastplate awesome for rog evasion types (counts as light)

Not everyone plays the game you do nor are interested in playing like you do.
Most people can solo heroic lives when having 30 past lives to fill in the gaps, some heroic lives like warlock, artie, wolf builds or sorc can easily be done on trash gear due to the PL filling in the gaps and the OP nature of those classes.

For some of us, getting a rare piece of loot is a point of pride or achievement, it's like getting your first SoS shard.
However, you completely misunderstood Fran's point, he is complaining about the lack of useful melee gear on the auction house and i have to admit, i agree, the trashloot for melee's is terrible, most of the time, i vendor all of mine away straight away. I only pay attention to a very small selection of stats on them.
On what is usually considered melee gear, a great axe i keep finding caster stats and assassinate, useless.
Even when i do get a weapon with damage on it, it is still less useful than named loot, several levels lower
The same applies to other gear to, what use is a lv 11 item with 84% fort when i can equip a 100% fort item at lv 7 (crafted or a t lv 9 (adam turn in at the "relic of the sov host" quest.

    Back on topic,

In heroics i have stopped posting anything on the AH, not worth the time and effort, if i need cash i run EE chain1,2,3, wheloon, stormhorns, highroad and druids chain in rapid succession and sell the trashloot to the vendor for a quick buck, that earns me more than fiddling about with posting harbor gear on the AH.
On epics i might check out a stat or 2 but 99% gets vendored off straight away.
For me, the AH is a steady source of base items to craft upon (if your ****** items with the lowest price gets sold it might have been me).
During the rest of my playtime, i ignore the AH and from what i noticed in channels (i started asking around), 87% of them did something very similar.

For a lot of vet's it's rarely worth it anymore.
I have 17 plat capped toon, i wouldn't know where to dump the plat anymore.
Running epic lives (and using named items 99& of the time), gave me plenty of income
