    Default Should I level now or wait?

    So I have a ton of essences, but stopped at level 100 due to boredom of the crafting leveling process. Should I bite the bullet and continue leveling now or wait for the update? Ideally I would just stop and pay for someone to craft unbound stuff for me if that will be feasible with the new system.

    Wait and get as many essences in the meantime. The new CC is easier to level but costly on essences, so deconstruct everything.

    My experience supports waiting too. Stock up now, drop an xp pot and run when the update hits.

    If you do, make sure you don't burn any purified dragonshards. Anything that can be used to craft them will immediately skyrocket in price. You can see this right now with the AH having a bunch of +1 tomes in the 1.5-2.0m plat this weekend.

    I actually ran some math to compare levelling cost in Old and New system.
    I'm trying my best to provide both results and the reasoning, please bear with me & feel free to provide corrections.

    The formula for xp per greater essence I used is as follows:

    XpPerEssence = XP / Essences * ( SuccesRate + 10 ) / 100

    [in old system:]
    XpPerEssence = XP / (GreaterEssences + LesserEssences/5) * ( SuccesRate + 10) / 100

    Where:
    XP - experience gained from crafting that shard
    Essences - cost of shard in Cannith essences
    Greate/Lesser Essence - cost of shard in essences from current system.
    SuccessRate - the % chance to craft shard. I am including the 10% success booster. Remember the total rate cannot exceed 100%.

    Both formulas assume that failing to craft a shard equals loosing all of the mats.
    This is not entirely correct - in old system you seem to loose ~25% of mats if I remember correctly. In new system, the amount of mats lost seems proportional to base failure rate for shard (crafting at 50% chance makes you loose half of mats, crafting at 3% chance you loose nearly all mats). In this regard, the old system is more forgiving, thus letting you save more materials.

    The results for my alt crafter (80/70/80 on live atm, lv 177 at lamma):

    New system:
    Crafting 3% chance shard with 10% success booster awards 3.89 Xp per greater essence (a ton of xp - enough to jump 4 levels)
    Crafting the same shard second time at 16% (+10) chance (rised due to lv ups), rewards 1.56 Xp per greater essence.
    Futher crafts are diminishing returns, with XP per Greater essence going down to ~1.1.

    Old system
    Crafting a 50% (+10) chance shard awards 6.51 XP per GT essence. This ratio varies from 3.5 to 8, depending on what shards become available to craft, and how the xp return of already crafted shards diminishes.
    Eg. 50% chance shard costing 10 GT/44Less for 204 xp.

    Notes:
    New system has hefty essence cost, but awards loads of xp per shard & shard xp is reduced only every second craft (in old system the xp diminishes each time you craft given shard).
    Old system requires you to recalculate & search for shards with better return rate every lv (or when reaching 100% chance). This may make efficient levelling a very time consuming process. In new system, you just click, click, click, then swap to higher lv shard once reached, making the process relatively streamlined.

    Some assumptions:

    You have access to 10% success boosters from cannith patron vendor (50 favor to unlock - go run them quests!). Same vendor also sells 10% craft xp pots.
    In new system, use only the bound ml shards to level up.
    In old system, use the shards that do not require collectables, in both bound and unbound machine.
    In both systems, you use the success boosters on all recipes.
    [optional] You have a ton of essences.
