Level 30 Snowy Side Korthos?

Was reading about WoW player reaching 100 while staying neutral:

and wondered if anyone had managed similar in DDO.

What's the highest level snowy-side Korthos character?

Without using xp stones? Probably not very high.

Once you hit level 10 you would not get xp from any of the quests.

You would quickly max out all the slayers (only 750 for korthos)

That means the only way to get xp is from rares. You only earn 1/3 xp from repeat kills and there is an additional hefty penalty for each level past 3.

Earning 10,150,000 xp (if first life) killing rares for somewhere around 10 xp each is not something anyone is likely to do.

Sure, but unless you are buying a lot of extras it's going to take you about 6 years.

The guy who level to max in wow without leaving the starter area spent 173 days + (that's 173 logged into the game on that character), so by comparison it's a lot less work to hit cap on rolls alone.

If I ever win one of those huge lotteries, I'll throw a bunch of money into it and try this out.

I think that was done with a digging up roots or the like process that earned a small but consistent xp, likely using a Boot program to constantly redig/harvest, while watching movies or the like onscreen to prevent robot accusations.


Of course, DDO has level limits on most XP, making the leveling up only using slayer wilderness a more likely comparison.


One could do Korthos, then go to airship, drink 50% xp potion, VIP, augment +5% xp, etc and get near or at level 19 with a Heroic Otto's Stone.

Ironically going from level 19 to 20 alone with gold rolls would take more real world money than buying an Otto's box, I did the math a few years ago.
You are much better off getting typical bank/backpack dungeons done, hit the box then head to Vale/IQ.

From there using an Epic Otto's Box would get you near halfway, but the gold rolls to get the rest of the way would likely buy you half a dozen or more Otto's (more likely a dozen).

Also ironically, getting millions of xp off of gold rolls is going to seem like a lot of work after the first hour of button punching...making daily Vons seem almost attractive...

Boredom required me to try leveling a char on Snowy-side.

Gathering some Daily Dice tokens but I haven't used those yet as at level 4 (banking past 5) I'm still getting XPs from quests. Going slowly so I get the daily play bonus and minimize quest ransack. Monster Manual hits have been helpful, but now need 700-900 of several mobs for the next XP rewards.

I have gathered more VORPAL weapons in the past week than on all my other chars combined over 10 years!!


I don't expect to get much past level 7-8 before the novelty wears off.

the new endgame, a completionist in starter rags stays in Korthos helping new players getting experience only from die rolls.

Top XP quests net between 800-900 now with a 10% XP pot (Silver DD freebie). Got some nice level 7 gear from the +2 weekend (with a +2 jewel) so at least my gear almost fits my level.
