Weekly DDO World Restarts on Wednesday

Server status shows worlds are up. But as I try to log in it shows worlds are down. Perhaps something wrong with the app?

For me it shows status as closed

I thought they usually put a message on the launcher, or on FAcebook, or here. So I wondered if this was even a thing today - until the red broadcast message gave us all a 20 minute warning. lol

Err, it's been happening pretty much same time every week since July.

How much more of a clue do people need?

I know this will come as a chock to you but there do exist us that work during this time and day and thus it was not until this holiday one became aware of this.

I agree 100%. I'm content with the idea that maybe weekly restarts are a good thing and that I can handle the routine time. I'm not thrilled when they are postponed without warning or update. If history dictates, no downtime today means a hotfix either tomorrow or Friday and no warning on that either.

And how about some consistency? If they're doing routine restarts I'd expect an outage window of about the same duration each week. The fact that this one has extended past 2 hours makes me believe they're doing more than a restart, in which case they should simply state another outage. We're never going to be happy when the game is down, but constantly having to check back is frustrating. Say what you do, do what you say.

Since it's happening on a Thursday, is that because of the concern about snow in Boston today (Wednesday)? Or because there will be something new in the DDO Store tomorrow morning?
